What happened to XTA?
Though this may seem to be a dumb question to those who frequent these forums, I've been on something of a hiatus from Spring for the last year or so. On coming back, there appears to be no official source remaining for XTA releases. Did XTA die horribly somehow? Has all development been dropped, an...

Artillery, you say...
http://www.panzerschreck.de/panzer/pzkpfw/p1500.html
That needs to go in too, in that case
.
Also, it would just run the city over. as long as you've got a fleet of tractors to pull it out of the rubble
We need a "mad science" variant of S44.

Re: problem with the build per atmospheric reentry
why cant we forget cob and just use lua for all scripting, devs? Because cob scripting is still fast, convenient, and versatile. and very few people actually understand lua well enough to do that. :? From what I know more people know lua than cob... seeing as cob only seems to be hanging around old...

Such a utility sounds extremely useful... I wonder if it would be possible to make some kind of animation export system as well, seeing as (last I checked) UpSpring's system is unfinished? Dunno how well it could convert into the required code tidbit animation Spring uses, but it would be shinnieh i...

The smoke effects could look better too, IMO. The huge flamey missle thing's impact hits, and creates a large cloud of smoke which sits for a bit, then dissapears all at once. Would it be possible to make it stagger a bit, fade away more gradually and possibly in chunks (don't know exactly how Sprin...

UV Mapping in Blender
So far, I have been able to mostly figure out Blender's UV mapping system... However, for a multi-part model, the pieces must be grouped so as to get them all on one texture, and I have been unable to find out how to do this looking around the interface (aargh) and using Google. Any ideas? It's prob...

The fire trails behind those meteors look a bit fluffy... Fire effects like that, in my experience, look the best if it is mostly smoke with little red. If you look at actual fire, it never simply fades out red like that, especially if it isn't somthing readily burning, like a meteor. It kinda looks...

It's true... the units do look kindof chibi-ish. Square, with big cockpits. With refinement, however, they could look quite good. A good first step may simply be to flatten them, and make them longer. Arm tanks also are usually fairly flat, with almost a catamaranish hull, I'd thought... Anyhow, wit...

Whee... Dune in spring. There seems to be an influx of epic mods in development recently. I say that tank turned out better than it looked like it would, as the body seemed too unsubstantial relative to the tracks and gun. Overall, it also looked frail for a heavy tank. The texture then helped to po...

This sounds like a good idea... Non-TA mods are welcome, so far as I'm concerned. Just make sure you don't bite off more than you can chew. This mod sounds really ambitious; for a first mod, unless you have experience elsewhere, I don't know how you plan to finish this unless you have a team to work...

Hey, that arghtank turned out even better than it looked like it would! Those huge beefy tracks are nifty. I don't believe we've had anything resembling that in Spring yet... Should look crushy and mangly ingame. :-) Untextured, that body didn't look so great... but the texture adds a lot, as is pla...

Feh, s'true, I'm probably just being a lazy ass :P . Once Spring starts working again on my computer, I'd like to take another stab at modding... especially since the tutorials have been added to since I last checked. After this, I may be able to actually contribute something to my arguement, and sh...

im going to stop posting in this thread, because if there is one thing this community is awesome it, its missing the point, seemingly intentionally. This is ironic, as you have also missed my point entirely. I said that we need more tutorials, so that people can start modding more easily. What you ...
