Right now i'm tweaking graphics, I need a decent modeling program to make new models with.

I decided to just update the old work as much as I can, add more polys, make more S3O models, etc.

Screenshots coming soon.

i played the old one quite a bit, i think you should focus more on the gameplay this time; releasing an all infantry demo then building on it when the balance is solid etc might work well

that's pretty close, last release was somewhere in 2006.

Since i've been in the Army I have had little opertunity to work on it so...

It's so much work, I need to get 3D modeler working and get started, hopefully my motivation will go from there.

Always good to see new mods coming around, and in this case, you have the advantage of the rule of "better the second time". Therefore, theoretically, you should have a leg up on the competiton. :wink:

Bravo 1/15FA, Cp Hovey Korea.

Anyway, I am making progress on Spring WD! I am adding pretty muzzle-flashes to units and I am also working on customized explosions, I am also working on game ballance.

Progress so far:

Added new muzzle-flash effects to:
-NATO GI
-NATO Grenadier
-NATO Recon
-NATO Commander
-M1A2 Abrams
(screenshots coming soon)

Planned game-ballance tweaks:
-Longer range for combat vehicles, reload times will be nerved for tanks, anti-tank missiles and artillery, I will also increase weapon damage output up to 50%, I had good results with this in my previous (now marooned version on my brain dead HDD) version, this will put the release date in likely end of December or sometime in January if time permits since we will be busy here.

BTW where are the 256 color textures stored? they are reported missing for some reason?

You have to follow the naming conventions for 3DOs in Spring. You can't just export all of your image files from the GAFs and expect them to work.

Why this is, when it makes porting 3DOs 100% more work than they should be, I dunno, but it's always been this way.

Ive been playing this game a whole lot lately, and ive played it a lot in the past. I have some ideas:


- Both sides needs nukes on a 3rd tier. Mospact should be through land factories, and NATO should have the B2 drop nukes but build it on a 3rd tier

- Mospact needs more units

- air defense should be buffed in both range and health, and missile damage should be increased

- The F-18 strike fighter kills itself cause its bomb is so big

- Helicopters are better than most fighters right now. If fighters had a lot better radar and could shoot any flying thing is sees on its radar, then i think the helicopter problem wouldn't be a problem.

- Not everything should be able to shoot at every aircraft.

- Until mospact has more/better units, it might work if their stuff was a little cheaper.

no nukes please... why is everybody so keen on using nukes? they are completly out of scale imho (even a tactical nuke would destroy anything on the whole map)
