Re: Spring documentation
You aren't in the right thread or forum. "Documentation" here refers to the source code documentation, not user documentation. :-) By "Direct Connect" I assume you mean you launched the game directly from the Spring executable. It would be a lot easier to use Springlobby instead,...

Re: mouse stuck on commander
Take it apart and clean it. You can soak the silicon membrane and keys in warm water and dish soap. The circuit board you'll have to be careful with and use something like 91% Isopropyl Alcohol. Be sure it is absolutely dry as a bone before you reassemble it.

If you click somewhere (not on a unit/wreck) it will return to the normal cursor. I'm not sure if that is the expected behavior or not.

- Core Viper & Arm Pitbull energy cost increased 50%. - Core Viper & Arm Pitbull damage and reload increased 25% (same dps, slightly lower ROF). What defense is there left against Zippers other than your own held back force of the same? The main T2 fighting units do terribly against a large...

Re: Dot Wars AI studies (KAIK vs RAI vs AAI)
What .cfg did you use for MA with AAI? If you have the time for a rematch you can try my modified BA config for AAI. I assume MAX_ASSISTANTS 6 should be changed to 0 if the mod doesn't allow it. I made this to make AAI Arm vs AAI Core more even. In my tests Arm almost always won early due to success...

Scenario: Two fleas are just on the edge of LOS. Flea#1 moves into LOS, then moves back out. Flea#2 moves into LOS right after Flea#1 has left LOS. To the enemy this would appear as a blip appearing, disappearing, then reappearing. With current behavior the enemy has no way of knowing whether this w...

You can try GPU Caps Viewer but I don't which, if either, is more accurate.

Re: Spring applied for GSoC 2009
I can understand not liking the style of Wesnoth's gameplay, but calling it crap when it does several things better than Spring does currently stinks of bias. * MacOS binaries + other more exotic OS binaries available * Single-player campaigns * Installer comes bundled with everything you need to pl...

Re: Default settings should not be "abysmal quality"
New users don't necessarily even know to start Spring from a lobby. The default resolution of 1024*768 is in the source code. IF the user knows to change the resolution in springsettings.cfg first they won't have a problem. This is assuming too much about someone that may download Spring on a whim.

Re: update bug
You need to install Spring somewhere other than inside Program Files if you want that to work. It has no write access there. C:\Spring , C:\Games\Spring , whatever should be fine.

Re: KAIK 0.13 Unofficial (Spring 0.79.*)
If you let it run long enough eventually you'll see large waves of T2 (expect good amounts of Fatboy/Goliath) but by then a staggered (accordion shaped) line of vipers/pit bulls with plasma deflectors and some heavy plasma cannons behind that will stop everything in it's tracks.

Reload maps and mods crashes the client when installed into Program Files, but not when installed into writable directory (\qtlobby). Perhaps the windows installer shouldn't suggest \Program Files\qtlobby as the default location?

Re: Good deal on possible upgrade?
For anyone using a Phenom II I highly recommend getting a dual-plane motherboard for new purchases. The TA790GX 128M mentioned above has been superseded by the TA790GXE 128M. I believe X2 and X3s won't unlock with the newer board though so that's a matter of personal taste. Even then you are limited...
