That's pretty much how I imagine you all the time. It sounds badass, like Burt Reynolds in White Lightning.
Man I had a really bad ass po boy the other day and I can't remember where so I can go get another one.

Re: Offering VNC access to intel osx box for Spring &Springlobby
I think those still have occasional weird compatibility issues. I wish it was easier to virtualize a copy of OSX, even if it was Mac only it'd give a much better option for development.==Troy== wrote:I am surprised why noone would just install hackintosh onto a VM or some old PC.

Re: Spring is now in 3D
Closest thing to a 3D enabled RTS is Civ5. http://www.nvidia.com/object/3d-vision-3d-games.html http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-hd3d/Pages/gaming.aspx I don't really see anything on their site about how the APIs work. I'd hope it was the exact same for nVidia and ATI but experience t...

Re: Spring is now in 3D
Hardly the first. All the games based on the IoQuake3 engine support stereo 3D. Yeah, but you have to hack it. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=170960 I'm talking about working out of the box. One checkbox, and if you have an nVidia 3D vision rig, ATI / nVidia box hooked up to a standar...

Re: Spring is now in 3D
Bumping thread because I got a 3DTV a few months back and I'm finally getting ready to game on it. Is there any chance of making this work with ATI HD3D or nVidia 3D Vision so we get properly exported sequential left / right eye frames? It'd be pretty cool to be the first open source game on their r...

Do people at your office send you screenshots by pressing print screen then pasting it into a Word doc and emailing it?Pxtl wrote:Knorke, I've never seen anybody under 40 do that before. Re: Why no .doc and yes .pdf
fighting adobe by using microsoft... YES! Unfortunately, sometimes there's not any good options. If you're going to get punched, sometimes you'd rather take it in the gut than the face. PDF has such an awful security record lately I'm half tempted to tell people to switch to XPS just to "vote ...

Re: Downloads page
Just go ahead and use better lookalike Windows and Apple logos. They really don't care unless you're using icons that indicate your applications is certified or has passed some sort of testing. A little Javascript that would anchor people on the download page to the right version for their OS might ...

Re: Make Kernel Panic the official showcase game?
Why? It's a shiny website plastered in shiny pictures and videos! http://www.moddb.com/games/kernel-panic/ You really need to own a top level domain for legitimacy even if it just redirects to your ModDB page right now. Especially since .COM .NET and .ORG are available for your game name, it would ...

Re: Why no .doc and yes .pdf
.DOCX and similar new Microsoft formats are zip files filled with XML. 3rd party support is pretty good and you can always use Microsoft Office Online for free now. Adding .XPS upload support wouldn't be the worst idea ever either, since I believe we need to keep holding Adobe's feet to the fire wit...

Re: Starcraft II and spring (popularity)
That is silly, all it requires to update the game is a single person with the skills to edit a text file. There is no reason it should take months. Regardless, it is far far far better to be missing a potential usable AI then to be listing broken ones. Im telling you, I help people frequently and b...

To Matarife: And with the spring engine the SC team could make a game in a week. Also have you ever used Firefox and all of its community add-ons? It really isn't about the price. And your last paragraph is completely not what happens to me. Use tasclient. I don't see how the extensibility of the e...

Re: Starcraft II and spring (popularity)
Free software is free if your time is worthless. Scifi is making the same point a lot of other people have been making forever, just in a rather incoherent way. Starcraft will be easy to setup, you'll have no trouble finding a game even at the worst off peak hours, and they'll patch it to the point ...

Visual Studio 2010 and the VC10 compiler come out in 9 days, on April the 12th. I don't know how much longer you're going to want to maintain VC8 support when it is two versions and five years old.

Of course, there is ~something~ to be said for growing the community. Otherwise, at the rate we're going, there won't be one in a year. Haven't people been saying this for years? Yeah, but I don't think anyone has ever listened in years. There's not really accurate numbers, but I've seen 343 people...

Re: Dualscreen / External Minimap
No, it just reflects the current position. People accept it: SDL is dead and SDL2.0 will never come! The development has been taking a LOT longer than I thought it would, but they are definitely making progress and the dev mailing list is very active still. Also a lot of people have just gone ahead...
