I'm having some trouble getting this to work, and I really can┬┤t be arsed to work through 29 pages of forum posts. Which I did try a while back.

Thing is, I tried installing ice a while back. Didnt get it to work. Every so often when having installed a new mod IceUI would switch on and it would be all over the screen. That sucked.

Now I'm having problems with redUI and using MT, it crashes. Since iceUI seems the second most used UI I reckon it can deal with MT (right?). So I gave installing it a second (or third) try. I disabled all widgets. Removed old(er) IceUi and downloaded latest version (r83?) I disabled only ice, nothing. Restarted game with ice enabled, nothing... Do I have to setup ice somehow?


PS. Suggestions for other UI's that work with MT are welcome too.

IceUI works for me in every game, just takes more effort in others to get it working. Well worth it imo though.

Cool. So what is it that I am missing here? I just downloaded IceUI r83 and extracted it (the IceUI.lua and the accompanying map) to the widget dir so that its 'widgets\gui_IceUI.lua' and 'widgets\IceUi\'

What reasons could there be that it does not show anything at all when enabled? At one moment I had IceUI enabled while having RedUI enabled as well; the screen was just empty. Disabling IceUI showed RedUI again. Same goes for standard UI.

Can someone tell me where to get a working ICEUI? The first post link is dead, springfiles is down, and when I get it using the springlobby or tasclient widget downloader I can't activate it in game because it gets this error:

Paste all the messages you get after enabling it, those two messages happen with all IceUI versions afaik and aren't critical (I get them both yet IceUI is enabled and working perfectly)

Oh wait..I turn on the widget and then turn off the widget and it says that.

It's the only way I can get the console to display the messages.

If I just enable the widget it says nothing. I also have no UI after I enable the widget... What am I missing here?

No idea about the rest but this is probally because IceUI disables the engines default UI to draw its on.
type:
/resbar 1 - for resource bars
/console 1 - for chat
/tooltip 1 - for tooltip

I know it removes the default UI so it can draw its own. I think you missed my point. After ICE disables the default UI, it doesn't draw ICE. So I am left without a UI. Using the commands you listed only brings back the default UI. I don't want the default UI, I want ICEUI.

UPDATE: It looks like TASClient downloaded an older version of ICEUI because springfiles is down. The latest version should really be hosted it multiple places for times like this. So I think I have the latest version and it's working fine, thanks everyone!

2) Click 'Download' under IceUI
3) Extract files into spring directory

nope, I honestly could not remember where to dl iceui and was probably posting from my iphone .

but I like your version better. I was drunk riding an airboat hunting alligators while throwing beads to see the nicest pair of creole tits I could see etc.
