Read the whole article, 12 seconds was it's time for a random cube, currently it's record is 2 seconds or something, which bests anything humans have done.

Re: Energy conservation hysteria

Nuclear fission(with uranium) power will only last the next 80 or so years, because of how much fuel is available for it on the planet.

Lego Robot vs Rubik's cube.

Looks badass, and solves them in 12 seconds or less!

Re: Reccomand a video card.

Nvidia driver quality is a lot higher then ATI. If ATI could have a lot less bugs and memory leaks, and their compatibility with games is at the level of nvidia, then I would prefer ATI over nvidia due to the better price/performance. Recent ATI cards make me consider getting one anyways, especially...

Re: Energy conservation hysteria

My plan to solve the world's energy problem. Create a square mega-meter scale solar array in space. The power produced by the array is either stored in a battery, or fed directly into an orbital elevator(s) that carries the power directly to the surface of the planet, where it is distributed from th...

Google Electricty

Google has been granted the right to buy and sell electricity like a utility does. Google says it wants to use this to better control where their electricity comes from and become closer to their goal of becoming carbon neutral. However, they also hint that they want to also actually go into the bus...

Thought that this thread would contain something about laws of thermodynamics and the heat death of the universe. To say the least, i'm thoroughly disappointed.

Re: Halo PC + Halo CE source code

There is a (small) demand for the code that does seem to be growing with time. With the way how there is less and less players playing the PC version, saying that the game is dieing is no exaggeration. With enough pushing it might be possible to obtain the code for the game.

Halo PC + Halo CE source code

The source code for halo PC(and it's Custom Edition)...
Do you think it will ever be released to the public?

And to those who actually like to play halo, do you even care if it happens?

Seven to Eight over ten sounds like a pretty good ratio considering that it seems like 99/100 jobs in the US alone are pretty much crap(That is strictly my opinion though. From what I heard, some people actually enjoy flipping burgers at McDonalds).

I used to know someone who worked at google personally, who got paid an insanely large amount of cash. One day though he mysteriously disappeared. I assume that he got a nice house in Florida like he always went on about, but that is quite uncertain.

Re: Widget Requests

How about for #2 instead of binding to a key, you rather bind it to the action of holding in the left mouse button while you are plotting the dgun order, and then the action of releasing it fires the dgun.

Re: ATTN: do NOT use GL_LINES and immediate mode

This is why I'm not a fan of ATI. They have too many issues with their drivers that lead to incompatibilities and performance issues with my favorite games.

Not that nvidia doesn't have their fair share of problems either, it's just that nvidia's are better supported.

Re: Have you gone 64-bit? Impressions?

I'd say the switch to x64 is a must when you have any major software that has x64 support. Major software that has x64 usually also run just as fast as x86, if not faster(and better), due to the companies putting effort into optimizations for x64. So far I haven't experienced any slowdowns in any x8...
