Retirement

For reasons I won't go into, I am retiring from this project immediately. I hope development on spring continues, and I'll check up on it from time to time.

Not counting the testing ofcourse, 3600 minutes of play using TASClient in actual multiplayer. "Message from server: jouninkomiko's in-game time is 0 minutes.", so that might explain it ;) Jouninkomiko: what does your branch currently do? Right now I'm going to use my branch to start piecing a gui ...

What is that short vertical bar that each resource has? The one between the 631 and 1300 for the metal and between the 1320 and 1500 on the Energy?

There's none yet, but I'm trying to work on it. This tonsilectomy is not going as well as I had hoped, and I'm sleeping some 16 hours a day to try and get through the pain. Soon.

Or use the 'x' as a potential "disable window" device, and expose a means of picking what windows to show again?

I really like the way that looks... when I make a layout, I'm going to try and mimic that as much as possible, and hopefully someone (if not you!) will write a cegui skin for it. That looks great!!

Well, I'm starting with hard coding the look of the gui, but leaving it open to skinning. Also, I'll give it a memory of the last position you moved each window to, so that you can customize where each window is and keep it that way for each spring game. Eventually (hopefully!) when its lua-ed, ther...

are you talking about the terrain? or the units and features? I know for fact the terrain is LOD, but as far as units and stuff are concerned, I wonder how much of a pain it would be to do that. I'd say its a necessity though.

It's very good to have charts like this. It'll be useful once cegui is incorporated and we can start making a real ui to be used to enter the game

What I am going to do is just get you all a new gui, then convert the code over to a lua based one. Prepare for it to be ugly, because thats what the default skin is.

Before I can actually start I'm going to have to redo part of the control system so that I can make it flexible enough to stick in a new gui without hacking it in, like was previously done. It's the reason there is no "new gui" even though 95% of the code was written. Now all of that code gets to be...

edit: wait... I think I figured out what your talking about... I like the one where you give me a bunch of variable and I can attach whatever scripts I want to buttons and sliders in the gui to read and modify those variables... unless it's impossible... pretty much, yea. What I'm going to do is re...

Well, basically CEGUI allows a layout for a gui to be defined completely in an xml file, which is how I plan to have the gui look done in either case. Furthermore, the skin will be defined in other xml files, called scheme, and looknfeel files, which are defined at cegui's wiki. The only part that w...

i completely agree that some sort of hitbox implementation needs to be added. thisll kill performance though... some serious hardware would be needed for large scale combat
