Okey, i just made a little flowchart, which consists of most possible buttons or options which can be interacted with. If I have missed some (major) buttons, plz tell me, so i can give them a place/spot in the flowchart and designs.
I will start making some compositions first, before making the real graphics for them.
In a first look, it look okay but ...
Are you sure someone will code it ? ( Greenail was interested some time ago, but I didn't see him anymore)
(For exemple, making an another "lobby" would be a lot of extra work not really needed).
You really need to speak with Juninkomiko if it not already done. (in that case, excuse me...)
He plan do recode the ingame UI part.
But surely, as I really like your work on mapping, I'm really curious to see what you will do.
don't worry, i ain't gonna do any coding! It just a reference chart, for me to check while designen de various menu's.
I don't want to make a new one, but maybe it is possible to get new graphics for and around the lobby.
Single Player isn't absolete in my opinion. There always are players that play 1/4 games, meaning they play alone, or against AI. As for most of my friends, we always play bots, co-op and sometimes alone. (easy kills :D ). The AI quality is most likely to become better and better, so i think this should be in the menu.
I'll try and work sometin out tonight.
PS. does anyone have the link of that thread about the website and logo design? i searched a bit, but with no luck yet. (will try search option later).. maybe someone knows exactly where it is... i want to get some graphics to use for the basic composition designs.
It would be a very ignorant moment indeed if Spring decides to abandon it's single player-users.
I think you would be very surprised at the amount of players who sit in the shadows and only play off-line. The same can be said for TA. There are about 100 or so regulars I see playing TA in the online community, and yet somehow fileuniverse manages to register downloads for new maps and units, etc, in the thousands.
Star Wars Spring, for example, as had 3000+ downloads. How many times have you seen it be played on the lobby?
One of the first thing a player does when he picks up spring is to try it offline, so that he can get a hang of it before moving into the online world.
I would focus on the ingame gui with jouninkomiko.
But if you decide to work on menu's please skip the multiplayer menu for the moment, just to prevent people from starting another lobby project.
