Re: PRO
So I was randomly trolling the Internets, and what do I see but a reference to the random encounter I had with Jazcash the other day. Well, last year. But I just couldn't believe how small the world is. In fact, I got randomly matched against a Warsow player's brother that I know in a Starcraft game...

Re: XTA 9.51
Yeah - it's written in a modder's point of view and as such not perfect for a changelog. For those who still wonder: An accuracy value of 0 makes a weapon perfectly accurate. Any value >0 makes it less accurate... That's no bugfix then. :P Someone thought flash were too good in the hands of someone...

Re: New lobby
Ok. That's fixed me. I guess its not so much a problem with the latest install of Spring, but I was trying to upgrade. Finding the right client and knowing what to do with it took longer than I'd have hoped. Oh well... I'm sorted now :)

Re: New lobby
I had a similar problem. The welcome message on the lobby gives a link to a folder containing about 10 different files, some of which aren't actually server versions. There's no way of telling just by the filename which is the most recent (unless you already know - but to someone who doesn't it's ve...

Re: Poll: Your CPU
I posted 1 core 'cause at home I have one. Unfortunately the machine that has the one core no longer has an operating system. Suffice to say it cant play Spring, or even boot any more.
At work however I have a quad core :)

Re: New video
Sadly, when you post on youtube you lose a lot of resolution. In a couple of those earlier dgun scenes the comm gets down to about 40 health and theres no way you could tell that by a youtube video.
In rANDY's own words "is that a peewee or a krogoth?"

Re: New video
Andy. Fantastic vid. As for zwzsg's suggestions, tbh it's all Spring. That video wasn't about looks. It was about gameplay. And how else were you supposed to notice rANDY's comm getting down to 40 health? Tbh for me the best bit of it was the fight at the end in the credits. Icon wars, but you didnt...

Bleh, if we controlled particles we could have magic, and sparks, and stuff that owned as much as Argh's flamethrower... I guess we need to look to the SY's then, eh? Cause I think that that's what we need. At the moment, everything is very... well it sometimes looks like you're playing with glossy...

I'd very much like to see this. I was thinking specifically of maps like the acid swamps of OTA. Acid foursome, GasPlant Plain etc... Those maps had dynamic features that could be reclaimed for resources, but that were also scripted for exploding upon impact of a rocket. That was pretty crucial for ...

Why not show your own, and your allies in game? I that same vein: I miss the allys energy and metal production and storage that the Demo Recorder provided in OTA. # Yeah exactly. Then you can preemptively see the problem that your ally is in. You can see if he's run out of energy if he hasnt and pr...

Units making use of particle systems
I think its about high time some of the mods began making use of large numbers of particle systems. Currently, the only ones I've seen are smoke, but there's so much scope. I mean look at some of the screenshots on the Spring website. Any shot taken from behind an aircraft looks poor because its so ...

I produce music and things mainly e.g. http://freeside.dcs.hull.ac.uk/~cs3glm/Music/Synthex%202.mp3 ^^^ something I cooke...

It's not hard just to incorporate a dropdown which would contain the name of the winner using javascript or something. Either that or just use CSS to make the text background the same as the fore-text colour and have the background colour drop away or the fore-text colour change on mouse over. Not h...
