Re: Wow, time for me to hang up my dev/modeler hat.
The environment and music actually remind me a lot of UT2004 for some reason. Or at least one or two maps in UT2004 I used to play. As for the graphics, I think you would really need to wait and see. Not everything that looks nice sucks as much power (for its time) as Crysis, and being an indie game...

Re: Not even sure where to put this... building issues...
can you give us a screenshot of the unit? I suspect it should be reproducable if you tell the unit to build from what would be the corner Well, this unfortunate guy was trying to make a towed gun yard, and kept running too close. He was pretty skilled though, he did place it sooner than five minute...

Re: Not even sure where to put this... building issues...
Okay thanks, I'll update that then (if my router stops dying a few moments.)
ETA: actually, I still seem to have the same issue with the latest version.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
The main thing that bothered me about Morrowind was that besides the "enemy" npc's wandering around, and the scripted events, the world was just... dead. Nobody went trading or hunting or anything that might actually make it seem like it was a world and not just a setting for me to complet...

Ah, that sucks then... but at least it's not something I broke, that's always good news.

Not even sure where to put this... building issues...
I've had this on two games now; basically I tell a unit to build certain structures and it will go in to place it, get too close (sometimes it looks like it really is too close, sometimes not), go back out and try again, and repeat. In SA it happens to me using a (arm, haven't tried core) tech 1 con...

Re: suggestion about deployed guns
For turning them, yes. I really have no idea what the easiest way to do it is, but in that case the inconvenience doesn't stem from the time it takes them as much as it does the time you're then not doing something more important. So, while I still think a sort of quick-deploy without fortification ...

Re: suggestion about deployed guns
I understand it would be weird for them to turn immediately, what I mean for the turn command is basically to reduce micromanaging them. For example if I am controlling an attack and using guns to support it, then I could just say "turn to cover here" and ignore them while they go about wh...

suggestion about deployed guns
When you deploy a gun (Heavy MG, AT cannon, Howitzer), could there be an option to do it without fortification (the sandbags and camo netting)? Obviously this wouldn't be ideal in most cases for things like machineguns and antitank guns because it would offer less protection, but it might have some ...

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2
I can hear people behind me (and I also turned up my field of view, which always felt weirdly narrow by default). What is your sound set to? Mine is on "war tapes" and I have a G35 headset with surround sound. Maybe it's something about that... Defusing bombs is hard at times because if pe...

Re: Firefox
I know you can block those things, I just never found an equivalent to that specific add-on. It wasn't exactly yesterday, so there might be more by now, but either way I don't have any problems with ff like others seem to.

I'm not sure about chrome itself but I had adblock on chromium at one point. Couldn't find an equivalent to NoScript though, sadly.

Re: Firefox
The highest I've seen mine is about 200mb. Normally it's barely above 100.
2.5gb is impressive. That's even worse than windows.

Re: Fix my router and earn 1000Ôé¼
This probably isn't why, but just throwing it out there in case... I once had a router that would randomly change around which machine was at what local address. I never figured out why, but sometimes I'd have to go and check any ports I forwarded for the old address were updated to whatever it had ...

Some people find reading in lower contrast easier, others not. Not sure there's much that can be done about it.

Crashes after restart...?
I had spring (with zero k) working yesterday after installing the latest ATI drivers, then today when I started up my computer it crashes each time I try to start a game. All I've done is install some new maps... but even if I select ones it worked on yesterday it crashes now? Huh? I've checked the ...

Minimap Death?
I just discovered today that while I was out being somewhere else and not changing anything at all, something has happened that makes my minimap in spring games fail horribly. All shots, nano, etc. are displayed as HUGE WORLD-ENDING BLOBS instead of their former tiny selves. Essentially the moment s...
