Fps off Checkbox?

I don't think FPS mode is that much of a problem.
I remember when I started to play TASpring and it didn't have any sort of restrictions on aiming in FPS mode. That was devastating bordering on unfair.
I was able to shell a guardian with a morty on a hillside, sitting way out of the guardian's range, and with a retinue of other units to take out anything that came to talk to me. That could be considered "unfair", if it didn't take two minutes to destroy it.
The only time I've seen FPS be incredibly unfair was in an early game, using an FPSed seaplane to lob shots over buildings, taking down AA turrets before I swooped in and tore his commander apart two minutes into the game. Other times, I've used FPS mode to snipe bases with berthas across the map. The Immolator became a level 1 bertha in FPS mode before the aiming restrictions.
When FF came out for the first time, the CORE side was hopelessly overpowered, allowing it's LEVEL 1 TURRETS to fire across the map on a beeline for the opponent's base when in FPS mode.
Then they added in aiming restrictions. FPS went from a serious problem to more of a gimmick, and anything that could fire plasma was almost impossible to use in FPS mode. When aiming, now, my turret seems to turn south on a whim.
So you're complaining about an LLT have 20 pixels of extra range on you because of FPS mode. You have got to be kidding me. I wouldn't mind an option, but I'd vote "no" just to spite you.

fritokane, watch the replay seanheron posted.
you will need xtape4... not the one embedded into ver .7.. ..agh.. ah.k..
watching tha game.. well ..
actually the 20 more pixels become like 40 more.. bc of the hitbox...
yep, its a bit crappy have to be manning the llt to prevent your enemy to build one at the fps range and.. ..... ... ..
on the other hand, llts have the LOS range to at least see this is happening. (im pressuming hlts dont?).
And this doesnt happens in every map/unit.
so, this is the correct checkbox.
:D i know you like my code.. not all of us can code as that.
oh!, and what it does is evident.. .. .. .. or not? on lasers, range dies where its supposed to be.. and some other units aswell, like aa pewees? snipers?..
this sure is a pain to code.

[x] Allow range advantage on FPS mode.oh!, and what it does is evident.. .. .. .. or not? on lasers, range dies where its supposed to be.. and some other units aswell, like aa pewees? snipers?..

Actually this needs no coding - just say it at the start of your games that you dont want to see any fps'sing
Fixed
Code: Select all
[x] Disable FPS mode
