I may just do this myself, actually
EDIT: Yet another fail, already implemented.
Sorry for epic failure
Eventually I tried manually testing the ally command. "/ally <alliance#> 1" to ally and "ally <alliance#> 0" to unally. It does work, but it doesn't send out a message or anything which makes it hard to see if it worked.
Back to IceUI. I have smoothscroll widget enabled, and when I middle click on someone's name in the playerlist, my cursor flies to the middle of the screen making me think it's not working, but I am not very sure.
IceUI should add a custom message (better yet, persistent indicator) to let you know when you ally/unally.
Regardless, in CA we will look to having a luarules solution that would better handle this command like having everyone on an alliance vote if they want to ally with another alliance, force reciprocal ceasefires, that sort of thing that IceUI can't do unless everyone was running it. It's got potential.
Yeah, i opened up the Iceui playerinfo and there was a major coding typo in this part of the code, which i fixed. If you open it up it should be pretty obvious. Also, i need (well you need to in the official release meltrax) to add a response, saying "you are now allied to team such and such".
