Re: Spring in Crossover Games?

Thank you for the info folks. I have an MSDN subscription through my educational institution, so I may just end up with Bootcamp/Windows.

Spring in Crossover Games?

After a long hiatus (yay gradschool) I'm interested in trying Spring again, except now the only machines I have at home are Macs. I have Crossover Games 8.0 on 10.6.1, but SpringEngineInstaller.exe hangs on the last file("zlibwapi.dll"), and then I get an error stating that "XTapeV959...

Oops, I misread Alantai's comment as "MoveD" not "move" and thought he'd either done it himself or called a mod. I guess I should be apologizing to jouninkomiko and the other board admins for the inconvenience. Anyway, yeah..

Sorry for putting this in the wrong forum, Alantai. I looked at both AI and development and decided this was more of a development issue than an AI design issue.. but.. apparantly I was wrong. ^^; Sorry for the inconvenience.

[XTA] Beating the Endgame Gunship Rush

So, you're in the endgame of a lengthy 3-person FFA. You're throwing wave after waves of Bulldogs and jammers at one of your enemies, with Bertha support, and slowly making headway. You have reason to believe the 3rd player has been attacked by the guy you're currently attacking, which is why neithe...

In the short term, Caligari makes Truespace3 freely available online. Granted, it's about 7 years old and the interface is even less coherent than Blender's original, but it has the basic functionality you'd need to start modelling. Just a thought, while we're waiting for someone to come through for...

AI vs AI

I was just skimming some of the discussion in the AI forum, and I hope this isn't off-topic to post in development, but would it be too much to ask that Spring allow multiple different AIs to be used in the same game (one for each team) once AI and skirmish gets implemented? Since the different proj...

Doomweaver, one problem with attempting to limit the number of mods using the OTA units is, as long as the Spring modding tools are available to the community, mod makers will be perfectly capable of producing mods using the OTA content. The best a vote like this will be able to achieve is to limit ...

I own both a desktop PC and a mac laptop. The PC dualboots Debian and WinXP, and gets used for gaming and my electronics hobby stuff (circuit design, uC programming, etc). The powerbook does my film editing stuff. (FinalCut Pro = less expensive than Avid and just about as sweet). I wouldn't have bou...

Well, let me add my voice to those hoping for a Mac port -- I own a Powerbook for location video editing work, and I'd love to be able to load up Spring to kill time in the many places where I've got downtime and WiFi but nothing else amusing to do..

I came in from the Slashdot article. It's great to see that the TA community's still going strong.
