Again, an effective nuke volley can destroy targets capable of stopping conventional assaults, like Vulcans. In cases like that, the expenditure is worth it, simply for destroying such a high-value, powerful target and allowing the conventional attack to succeed. I haven't seen the video referred to...

As Noize points out, any vaguely realistic system of detection would be utterly non-TA. We should be thankful they don't make us uncover the terrain of the map like many RTSs! :) However, Spring is about a 3d engine, and it IS ridiculous to be unable to see something that the player can establish - ...

It's worth remembering that few people build overlapping BMD. Four silos with one nuke each will penetrate a single BMD system with ease, and be more effective than a single silo with ten nukes. Of course, this will hardly win the game for you. But that's why nukes are a part of combined arms: poppi...

That raises a very interesting concept for LOS: changing it from a distance, to what size a unit has to be for your units to see it. it'd be like LOS=(unit-los-constant)(size of target's collision sphere)/(distance to target) if the LOS value is over a certain number, you see the target, if not, yo...

That's a good idea. It's increasingly ridiculous that units still have their 'five square' view radius, even on perfectly flat maps. Perhaps the 'fuzzy' LOS area could be quite long, to allow a K-bot to spot the HUGE PLASMA CANNON on the TOP OF A MOUNTAIN even when it's outside the view range? If a ...

Lock Minimap Aspect
It would be good if the resizable minimap could be set to hold its aspect ratio. Enlarging it to get a good look at something and shrinking it back down almost always ends up with a distorted, almost useless map. A simple option could force the map to retain its actual aspect. Ghetto EDIT : While we...

Nukes work well as tactical weapons as they are. As an attack goes in, setting some nukes on the defence line (or strongpoints) usually obliterates the lower-end defences and makes it much easier to get in. They simply aren't 'blow everything to shit' weapons - they're extremely accurate artillery, ...

TAWD is reason enough to play Spring by itself. I'm less interested in yet another remix of TA than using the engine to make something interesting. WD and War at Sea are the mods for me. Don't sweat the fanbois, GZ! :) Ghetto EDIT: And never let anyone tell you there are too many planes in WD. A pla...
