Lock Minimap Aspect

Post by Pnakotus »

It would be good if the resizable minimap could be set to hold its aspect ratio. Enlarging it to get a good look at something and shrinking it back down almost always ends up with a distorted, almost useless map. A simple option could force the map to retain its actual aspect.

Ghetto EDIT : While we're at it, being able to direct orders on the minimap (instead of having to move the camera, then click on the terrain/buildings) would make it much more useful. It isn't quite possible to run a game from the map, and with a few small changes it would be.

Mouse over the top left little white square on the minimap, read the tooltip, and be amazed ;)

The orders-on-the-minimap thing is probably the most requested thing after a TA style click scheme... And as far as I know, that will come with the new GUI, if it ever happens.

Call me nuts, but the top left square is for 'move map'. The top right maximises it, which isn't what I'm after.

At least I'm not the only person who doesn't like moving groups requiring so many clicks. So long as they're working on it I'm happy. :)

Oops, I meant top right... well, you figured it out anyway. I didn't know about the shift thing, though!
