Unready Option
I think it would be nice if Spring has the option to be able to Unready in-game after you have readied up if you have to.
You occasionally get a newbie who accidentally readies in a bad spot. Also when Two people ready on One spot it will allow One of the players to move. Mostly ends in both players dieing from D-gun or One of the players been kicked and the other left with Two Coms.

Re: Unready Option
+1 though i do think 2 ready mechanics are cumbersome.
Id like the other starting options to be fixed and functioning as they do in other games.

I refer you to my "Shuffle Within Box" option so that each team's players are randomly redistributed to the start positions chosen within their box upon the game start.Beherith wrote:Yeah this will just further draw out the

Team killing in general is a different issue. This stops people from resorting D-gunning because they don't want to share a spot.SirMaverick wrote:This won't stop team killing.Mostly ends in both players dieing from D-gun [...]
Well usually the team has some idea who was first to have the spot. The guilty party will most likely move after been told by the team and starting a kick vote against him.Beherith wrote:Yeah this will just further draw out the

It stops people from using "but I'm readied" as an excuse, and a chance to fix the problem without a Re.

Maybe those pointers should have a small order number.

Re: Unready Option
Isn't this argument just based on a community of "asses"? Seriously shouldn't we add the option to either redo the start positions because of a change in team strategy making another starting point a better option or simply being able to fix an accidental click just because some people cannot behave?Beherith wrote:Yeah this will just further draw out the

I mean sure I've played with such guys too but in the end the discussion you described happens anyway despite an unready feature being there or not. Besides the general advantage of being able to correct one's starting position this even might speed things up in the described situation as you don't need to restart in order to get a proper game running...
Re: Unready Option
Of course the player thinks when he pushes the mouse button at empty spot he has immediately occupied that place, but there maybe a huge lag between sync from some countries so two players can easily place at empty spot and the other start point seems to appear a lot later even when it was placed earlier.
There are also a good amount of idiots so sometimes it concludes to a commander murder.

Re: Unready Option
See, this is why I want a "randomly-assign-players-to-first-N-start-positions-within-their-start-box". No arguing or tedium over picking start pos's, just use the ones provided by the mapper.
Re: Unready Option
That would work quite well given minimal attention by the mapper.Pxtl wrote:See, this is why I want a "randomly-assign-players-to-first-N-start-positions-within-their-start-box". No arguing or tedium over picking start pos's, just use the ones provided by the mapper.

Not exactly the same, but in some ways better as it works with autohosts.CarRepairer wrote:I refer you to my "Shuffle Within Box" option so that each team's players are randomly redistributed to the start positions chosen within their box upon the game start.
