a recurring question :s

Post by Deutscha »

hello,

i played some games on spring and i think im not a newbieee a all :D

But my question is about creating mods for it:

Do you have really interesting (and easy) tutorials, where i can learn all things i need to do for mod creation? E.g. i need something thats shows me how the engine works, and what it needs to make a playable game for it.

The wiki is a very big mess and not well structured (e.g. old outdated links etc.). The tuts aren't very user-friendly for a newbie in conten creation like me. I never made somethin before in this direction.

maybe extract one of the mods (sd7 = 7z), and have a look at the files.

This gives a good idea of the structure of mods.

Glad to see you read the *entire* model setup tutorial.

http://springrts.com/wiki/Mod_and_Unit_ ... evelopment really does have all the info you will need, you just gotta read carefully.

And yes, the best way to see what goes where is to crack open a working mod/game and see where things go.
