Re: Id say real newbs are the ones who cant handle critizism
Unless you are claiming to be a mind reader you shouldn't presume to speak for others. Just because you are one of the few who are accusing players of hacking doesn't mean you have silent followers. If you really think that then you are deluded.Maji101 wrote:Most people dont speak what they thinking most people are to afraid of conflict I am not "I stand at frontline and take what they can give".
It's not even possible to hack in a muliplayer game - maji, it's time you realised how stupid you've been acting. Just admit you were wrong or something eh?
Once again all you've claimed it to have a suspcion that people have been hacking, and this is purely based on "They got units into my base, somehow going to the only places where bases are likely to be situated on the map, and avoiding my non-existant defences, and my fighter spam couldn't stop them!"

a single AK is a scout...as well as a raider. why bother scouting if you've got something that can do a decent job of wrecking up a totally undefended base? are planes the only 'allowed' scouts?
it still takes a heck of a lot of effort to wreck a base with a single AK whilst dodging the units hunting it.

Hmmph
I doubt only clanners will have to endure these random accusations. I'm a mediocre player by all accounts, and I've been accused of hax by noobs. This was against an enemy who first built an air plant and a small base around it (easily crushed with rocketbots), and then during the course of regular expansion I stumbled upon a firebase where he was metalstalling on building a hovercraft platform.
Consider that said game happened on Mars.
This player, upon my discovery of his second base, insisted that I could only be finding him by the usage of map hax, and my wide-ranging exploratory teams of AKs had nothing to do with my success.

go on, it's not a waste of time as it's quite funny. well the second one drags on a littleSwiftSpear wrote:Maji: You have the demo's of every game, there's really no need to accuse people of hacking based on hunches, you can go watch the demo and see exactly what all their units do and how their orders are set. If there was honestly any real suspicion I'd review the demo myself.

which isn't exactly a hack but rather an "exploit" ... an engine bug...Muzic wrote:Ofcourse one could always look at the dents on the ground for where certain buildings are :D
its not better than hacking to do that...
its lame, and just don't do it.
lets just hope the new map format, or the next release fixes that, or at least remedies it..
Would it be possible to have the height/altitude/elevation map be stored client side, and have only the explored parts deformed? IE. The main server has the "master" copy of the deformation map, and the clients get the parts they have explored.
On second thought, this whole idea screams "map hacks" and "de sync issues" written all over it.

I proposed something similar to solve this, and it got jcnossens interest, but there hasnt been a mention about it at all since then. The topic can be found here:

Any news from the devs if this is going to be implememnted at all?
