Thank you all!
I think this mods greatest advantage is starting directly using Spring features such as UVmapped units and higher polycounts etc. Those mods with a TA "history" all have alot to redo to get up to Spring spec, and redoing stuff is not fun _at all_.
So far the development has gone pretty nice, there is ofcourse a lot to do but I'm still shooting for Beta 1 (the first public RC) in August. Not sure how many features will get into it tho. The summer is really nice this year around here and so computer time is at a minimum right now, but I'll soon start going afternoon shifts at work soon meaning I'll probably spend more time on the mod.
I've started to do some early playtesting now, got Infantry, two gears and one APC per side in game. I currently like the infantry vs. vehicles balance and infantry feels useful even versus powerfull gears like the Spitting Cobra (though only in the right circumstance).
My immediate to-do list include:
-Building models
-Engineer inf
-Bricklayer / Stone mason
-Hunter / Jager Recon
-Jaguar / BM
- Cheetah / Iguana
- Def buildings
- Hun / Klemm
- Features

Right now I think I'm all set unless you or someone else is an experienced unit scripter who wants to help? Even that I can manage myself for now though. What I'd need is some beta testers later on when B1 is close to be released to help me bughunt and test the balande of the mod. I test versus NAI right now and later on I'm gonna play on LAN vs. my brother but online games will be necessary. Heavy Gear universe knowledge will be preferable but not necessary.

Well, yes, all help is definatively welcome, I'm not trying to refuse help from anyone, in particular a experienced TA mod dev, but I didn't know if he was offering his help in or just asking?
The question has kind of stuck in my head tho and I've come to the conclusion that there are some points i need help with:
- Effect sounds (I know what i want, just not how to make them)
- Unit sounds (dito.. will need voice acting as well)
- Fancy scripting / Scripting proofreading
....
There was actually more but I forget..
Any takers?
