TASClient: Please get rid of the lock on mod files

Post by Caydr »

Betalord, I don't know why this is in place, maybe it's an anti-cheating mechanism of some sort, I don't know. But it sure is irritating when I'm constantly making minor change X to variable Y, then have to close TASClient to update the mod file. I lose all conversations I'm in, and sometimes they're important. It also means I have to go through the process of logging, in, hosting a room, setting up the AI, picking whatever, etc... if it's not there for a reason, can you please eliminate it?

Thanks

put your mod file in your base spring dir, when you load spring it will load your mod instead of xta.

he's talking about the file lock on the mods while spring is open.

I am pretty sure it is there for anti-cheat reasons. However, a change is not needed droping the mod in the spring base dir will force spring single player to load the mod.

That is how I test. Simply enter enter enter and I am in. Random map and commander ftw.

The repeated use of 'TASClient' made me think me otherwise, but you could well be right; i'm not exactly an expert on modding. =P

no, he is talking about the client but that modification isn't needed.

If you replace the mod with the same file name, you won't have to refresh the mod list. Spring just loads the selected mod.

Does SpringSP have bot support? Where do I get it?

Spring SP has bot support, and you should already have it if you got NTai XE3/4/5/6/7/7.5/8/8.1

btw anticheating? Wouldnt doing that mean you'd desync ingame?
