Well for me, graphical prowess is running along "okay" at 640 by 480 rez, with everything else tunred up. I useually don't notices resolutions, but they give you such a huge performence boost. Neat, huh? Only problem is when the font dosn't scale properly.

I know what you mean, I don't know why people fuss over resolution, although I shoot for 800x600, not 640x480

The only time it REALLY matters is when something is far away. But hell I'm not a sniper.

Or when you have an LCD screen. Then they have one resolution they run at, and everything else is crap.

"Registration"! ARGH!!!

Fileplanet? ARGH for, yet, another registration and double ARGHHH for everything else in it!

Anyway, updating a computer to play a game that will only come out in a year is not the smartest thing... In one year, you will be able to buy what you are now buying for almost 1/2 the price.

Actually I upgraded my computer a day before Oblivion came out. That seemed prudent to me.

The next gen games are supposed to have dual core support, and apparently microsoft rushed some new structures into vista that allows it to mangage things dual core more effectively as well. I'd be willing to bet that the current supcom doesn't have special support for dual core at the moment, but there's no telling what they could do to it in a years time.

Software running dual cores and acctually taking advantage of thier capabilities will seem so increadibly fast as it runs.

I might just look into Duel Core. But not now. I'm waiting till more things can take advantage of it.

I remember reading in one of the GPG posts that u will see a differnce when running supcom on duel core.

I have a feeling this game is going to be Really hard to run smoothly because of the advance textures and the environment not to mention the thousends of weapones all over a huge arse map
