Nope, that's G Gundam. SD Gundam is the one with the SuperDeformed Gundams. And yes, of course it's supposed to be stupid. With special move names like "Shining Finger", a big bad guy that takes the form (for most of the series) of a giant Gundam Head, and a Gundam shaped like a giant windmill, it couldn't be anything else.

Like I said. After the rather depressing Victory Gundam, Bandai/Sunrise apparently wanted something more cheery.

Edit: But this is absurdly OT, and we should probably stop cluttering up smoth's thread.

Ok lets clarify:
Gundam series that this mod is based in:

Mobile suit: Gundam(aka "First" to it's fans)
08th MS team
0080 War in the pocket
0083 Stardust memory

:MAYBE ONE DAY(this assumes the mod gets popular):
Zeta Gundam: possible, the titans, AEUG and Neo Zeon are enticing
Gundam igloo: I have not seen it yet.

:Exceptionaly remote chance:
Gundam X: is a mix of wing and First very do able as a separate playable side.
Chars Counter attack: tempting

What this mod will NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH:
Double Zeta Gundam:not likely this was an asinine series
Gundam Wing: no balance
Gundam Seed: ugly and no balance
turn A gundam: ha ha you are joking right?
G-Gundam: See above
Victory Gundam: How about a large mug of NO!!
G-Saviour: Ha ha, NO!!!
SD Gundam: ummm no
Superior Defender Gundam: FUCK NO!

FYI there were 2 SD gundams: Superior Defender Gundam And SD gundam are two different series. It was the Toyline for Superior Defender gundam and G gundam that KILLED the gundam merchandising in the us.

So, while I am happy to see gundam discussed, I would be more happy if people were discussing what they would like to see in the mod.

i would like to see beam saber hilts on the models that need them (GM , RX-78 gundam) (you told me you were going to put them in the next relese back in the 0.98b topic)

I would like if there were more GM variants like the RGM-79D GM Cold Climate Type (cool 90mm machine gun with a nade lancher= :-) ) and GM kai

also more Gundam(go5(gatlin gun :-) ) for example) and Gelgoog(jager for example) variants and maybe a dom with a mmp-80

and for my final thing i think sould be in the mod well vulcans (when spring will let you do it) on the Mobile suits that have them (helps against anti-air because a gm's beam spray gun takes a while to do it :wink:)

and yes i'm still around people 8)

Although they had them, if they cannot be used what is the point of modeling useless polys on something just to stay within canon..?

I only saw the first couple of eps of 0083, but wasn't it similarly Wing-style superheroesque? IIRC, it was mostly about two experimental super-Gundams.

hey the alex has them on and there useless and her cobham doesn't do any thing beyond fall apart and guess what shield don't do much beyond be there
(unless smoth did some weird magic)
its the nostalgia of it all and smoth said he would put them in a while back(must of forgotin or he is being raceist)

Ok to clear this stupidity.... DO NOT ASSOCIATE wing with UC.

Gundam Wing:
Almost all of the mechs in wing can take sustained fire from beamrifles without a scratch. heavyarms can take out whole armies of leos. The mechs in gundam wing were made of some magical shit called gundarium or gundanium... that could withstand massive damage.

Gundam 0080:
As good as the ALEX and Kampfer were... they cannot do what the wing mechs did. Alex's armor is mearly reactive plating and the Kampfer was made of ceramic composite. When the kampfer finaly does face the alex it mainly destroys the reactive armor on the alex and is destroyed by a noob pilot. Also, the kampfer was able to only dispatch a hand full of mechs and the ALEX without it's armor was totaled by a ZAKU. Something that would never have happened in wing.

The cold climate type will not be added for the same reason that the zakuII desert type will not be added. They are TOO exotic and offer no advantage. If they were different in the way of stats I would have added them.

Hmm, the Jager was a good sniper unit. I may consider it.

I have been debating about the head vulcans and chest vulcans. Simply put they would only be of aesthetic signifigance. Adding them will only produce lag. Sorry, DO KNOW that I have been considering them.


As far as the beam saber models.... have you looked at all the work I did for the release. I was more worried about substance. What units need to have the beam sabers added? list them so it can expidite their addition.

Well Smoth I play tested your mod some and I have to say: Cool!

Its a neat, nifty mod with a lot of explosions and big old mechs with guns. Its only a matter of taste that I like Battlemechs more then the Gundam Style of mechs. Its just the way I am.

Pfft. Those people are retards. I remember that Gundum Wing was the first anime I ever saw that I actually LIKED. I was young and only got parts of it, but was attracted to the big guns and robots. Then I found Mechwarrior 2 and thought "Hey...these things are cooler". Then I lost track of Gundum.

I'll keep trying it out, but there are never any games that I see.

yeah it is not very popular. There are 2 player I know who play it often:
MrSatan and Sasaki

they are often up for a game. Pretty good players also.







So, since I will have to take a break from gundam thanks to real life crap. Here is the list of stuff I am thinking of adding:

Zeon:
Musai cruiser for commander replacement

zakuII heavy weapons setup
2 x 3-tube missile pod(only fires when stoped)
Zaku bazooka

Zaku high mobility
similar to a dom but slower and less damaging..

Zaku cannon
Think GM cannon but less accurate and less damaging.

Gelgoog sniper
Similar to the gm sniper

apsallus
OMGWTFPWN flying bullseye.

Federation:
Whitebase: commander replacement

Jet core booster(heavy air dominance)
It has BEAMRIFLES!

that unit clust should take out 20 or so zakus it deployed right it could take out more then that.

The alex can take out 3-4 units every 2 shots. :P The zook guns are pretty damn strong also.

Yeah, if you rush with enough zakus yeah... stuff dies. :P

However, it should be noted that you will lose many of them.
