Thanks for the comments so far!

Noize, maybe indeed some places aren't aligned perfectly, but for my guess is that 95% is now aligned in a way, that in TA camera mode, you can play according to what you see (instead of using the F1 heigtmap for best placing)

I must confess i have downloaded L3DT, and probably going to do some tests with it. The last map of Forboding Angel was quite nice, but however, Bryce has it's own feel, which i think still beats L3DT.

Hopefully not everyone get's bothered by a sloped metal patch :P.

(PS i rendered that one at perspective-mode, which gave me the trouble with lining up the heightmap.. i now rendered straight top down with a FOV of 1, which means do perspective 'deformations'. The new CenterRock is rendered this way, and looks a lot better)

It seems to plays really well. I had a good 3v3 on it earlier, and will definitely be using it again. Though the game was unfortunately one-sided, as two of my enemies went for early air and got smacked by my early MTs, then tried to dislodge me from the central hill with unprotected Guardians. The metal concentration seems to work well, and the central-ish hill is valuable without being a must-take, and the other terrain nearby lets you assault it. The hills make defending territory easier without making it too easy, but it's open enough that real porcing is next to impossible. Energy's not too hard to get either - at 0-25, wind's unreliable, but there's enough geos that you can afford to use it until you get a geo plant or two up.

Thanks for your nice 'review'. I appreciate your in-depth post. The placing of the metal was a job i tried some times over, but not extensivly. I like your notice of the fact that the center isn't a must-have, but nice to hold. And also the fact that there are enough open spaces.

Hopefully you are going to enjoy Center Rock. Maybe i'll make one map more, before going to design GUI artwork and concepts.

The one thing that's annoying about Cathralda is that it's hard to use start-boxes aligned to the edge of the map for a 3v3. You have to get up to around 25% of the map width to cover all the start locations, which is a bit much. It looks like it'd work well for a 2v2, though.

I'll add a map review to the Wiki list after a couple more games there.
