Featuremap (geovents) doesnt work

Ok here is what I did:

(I m working with the newes map creator including geovent.bmp and all the other stuff, so i dont think that this is the reason)

- created a texturemap with 15360² (works)
- created a heightmap 1921² (works)
- created a metalmap 1921² (works)
- created a featuremap 1920² (doesnt work)

the featuremap is all black (0, 0, 0 RGB). Only 5 geovents shall be on the map therefore i put 5 (0, 255, 0 RGB) green spots on the map. When the compiler runs at the end it writes 0 features and in game there is no geovent.
Am i missing something? I know that for some features you need to create a map folder with some features in it, but as far as i know, you dont need that for geos. The should work the way i did or not?
I have no plan what to do and without geos, the map is not finished :(

Some issues with geos... they can't be too high (top 10% of the map about... this may have been fixed)... they have to be on flat terrain... they can't be under-water... try making you heightmap all 50% grey and see if it still fails to place them...

make sure the pixel the vent is on is NOT blurred with any of the pixels next to it...

if two geos are placed on directly adjacent pixels, it can screw things up....

i succesfully used a featuremap the same size as the height & metalmaps in the latest map i made..... perhaps i just got lucky but u might wanna try doing the same.

I'm having the same problem as well. It could be due to the top 10% bug that Sinbad mentioned. I hope this gets fixed soon, I really want my FF map to have geos :|
