Original behaviour: reclaiming a nanoframe would give m gradually.
Current behaviour: reclaiming a nanoframe doesn't give m. Supposedly it should give m when it disappears but this presents a bunch of problems. What happens when you build a nanoframe for 50%, reclaim 20% and then abandon it? What happens if you pick up building again, then reclaim it again?
The change was never mentioned in a changelog yet it has a big impact on gameplay. I always considered this a bug and thought it would be fixed in *the next version*. It never did.
Could we please have the original behaviour back?

Re: Reclaiming nanoframes
whoa they implemented TA style reclaim where you don't get metal until you finish?
Re: Reclaiming nanoframes
If its not mentioned in the changelog, that means we didnt change it. It is linked to an engine changed that we have noticed previously.
BTW I kinda disliked the idea that you could use a nanoframe as temp storage. Build more storage.
As to what happens when you build to 50, reclaim to 20 and then abandon? Please test it and report back. I know this sounds like a canned response, but believe me, it helps us a ton.
Thanks!

I can't remember when this bug was introduced exactly, guess about a year ago.Beherith wrote:If its not mentioned in the changelog, that means we didnt change it. It is linked to an engine changed that we have noticed previously.

It was not about using nanoframes as storage (which would be very ineffective anyway) but about being able to reclaim a building you were making because you really needed the m fast for something else.
Tested that btw, nothing strange happens. Iv figured out why; when reclaiming a nanoframe you reclaim its health, not its progress (like before).
I guess I can live with the 'new' situation, although it does have downsides compared to the old. For example you could reverse building a fusion partially (ie 70% back to 50%) because you needed the m for units/defense and then pick up building again at 50%.
Another difference is that reclaiming has because become a lot more dangerous since you won't get any m back if the enemy shoots it just before you completely reclaim it.
My main problem with this thing is that it was never mentioned in a changelog; for the past year i haven't reclaimed because I was afraid I wouldn't get the m back...
Re: Reclaiming nanoframes
think this:
http://springrts.com/wiki/Modrules.lua#reclaim
int unitMethod Default: 1
Controls how units are reclaimed. Can be 0 - gradual reclaim, 1 - all reclaimed at end, any other positive value n - reclaim in n chunks.
in BA it is not set, so=all reclaimed at end

Thanks knorke, well take a look at it that way!
Re: Reclaiming nanoframes
The following is a bit offtopic but i'll place it here anyways.
Feature request: Could there be a button added to each builder/nano that you can toggle called something like "build only/dont repair".
Cause rebuilding is a real pain when your base is (severely) damaged and you have to micro every single nano/builder to not repair things but actually assist building things.
This feature request has been in my mind for years but oh well never got to it to say out loud.

Good idea, but really off topic indeed. Deserves its own thread.Floris wrote:The following is a bit offtopic but i'll place it here anyways.
