I avoid all pay-for games nowdays, quake live is for me a pinnacle of multiplayer fps and spring is the same for multiplayer rts. Both are free. One of the reasons I dont dick around much with multi games is the horrid drm shit that comes with (obv. you can get around that in SP).

Because I have several games known to work flawlessly under linux/wine but steam itself breaks on every fucking update so I can't play them. For selling games episodes that cost $100 but take 1/2 hour to finish.

For making me spend 5 hours installing GTAIV because everything is tied into Rockstar Live/Windows Live and forced updates etc. Also for making a PC game that only works properly with an XBox controller and won't save a single-player game unless connected to a network.

Also for stealing ideas, patenting obvious techniques and never following a standard they don't own.

For marketing themselves as some kind of bohemian startup while at the same time taking away your ability to write or buy 3rd-party software without their approval (then denying approval for products that compete with theirs and stealing ideas from rejected Apps). Only because I haven't played a Blizzard game in over 10 years. I never got into Starcraft or Warcraft 3 because I don't like cartooney graphics in RTS (give me blood, smoke and rusty steel!!). I was into Warcraft I and II because basically they were still a novel thing back then. I think Diablo II was the last Blizzard game I played.

Now I'm just over Blizzard. They used to make original games once, now they just repackage their old ideas with new graphics and spend 5 fucking years leaking screenshots to foaming fanbois. I'm pretty sure media releases are the only thing Blizzard actually produces these days (cos Starcraft II was so awesum and worth the wait amiright?)
