Anyone got it?What are your impressions?worth the money?
Re: RAGE
No, aint getting it. Id made wonderfull well-balanced Multiplayer Games, but they always sucked at Single Player. Just nobody out there to tell them, because the founded it all, you cant tell god, he is doing it wrong.

yeah but who wants to shit his pants while playing a pc game?
Re: RAGE
From what I'm told, and what reviews tend to agree on:
You can find videos on youtube of the first 10 minutes
- Pretty as hell, awesome graphics
- Great shooter
- RPG parts are a little weak
- PC port is buggy, wait a few months until its patched
- Parts of the game map are shared so you end up revisiting them
- NPC chatter is not important and intentionally lacks depth, is kept straight forward
- Anticlimactic ending, no 'point' or 'explanation' as such
- Some say it's just a big tech demo for their new engine
- Some say the engine makes everything pretty but the story itself is empty

Re: RAGE
It's a decent FPS but the name is definitely appropriate, the autosave only saves at the start of a mission (when you go from the world map to a mission map). It has basically an extra lives system where a defi resurrects you on death but once you use those up you have to reload a save. You can save manually anywhere but with modern games it's easy to forget doing that, leading to a massive loss of progress and thus rage quits.
The graphics are decent, I guess id lowballed them to make it work on consoles (can't blame them, that's where the money is and they did handily kick the ass of pretty much all console games with their full 60FPS) so they aren't going to blow you away but the system requirements aren't high either I believe.
It's nice that you can carry all your guns and never have to choose which ones to take with you (you can only bind a few to the quick selector but you have the number keys to access ALL of them) and the ammo variety is good too. It's not an RPG, it's an FPS with an overworld. I just wish I could tape a knife to my gun to stab those annoying mutants without using ammo, the rifle butt isn't all that powerful.
The "Anarchy Edition" (only edition) has an armor that completely obsoletes the class choice, you get the benefits of all the classes. I deliberately picked one of the lesser classes to experience the game the way it was balanced. The other benefits of the AE don't seem to matter, I don't know if my punches actually deal more damage and the double barrel shotgun is fairly useless due to the slow reload animation.

If you were looking for a Stalker game then RAGE wouldn't have been for you anyway, it's not that kind of game.Das Bruce wrote:For me, $89 for 'unremarkable' puts it in the no category. I'll keep waiting for GSC Game World to finish a Stalker game.

Hey people here say I am a serious Sam who needs some painkiller for my doomed borderlands..
And I like to rage gundam sux etc
Seriously thought how open is the game? Like crysis(fake open levels) borderlands(open within large zones) or (dungeon siege)really open

Re: RAGE
Open ended like a colonoskopie...
Leave my illusions alone... every game i hope, and now you trample those hopes, buhuuuu, i really thought one day, a sandbox would defeat the laaawws of computation. Minecraft, i luv you still, cant you be apocalyptic for once? Just a earthquake, or a vulcano, or a tsunami... and i could RAGE.

Kinda like Zelda or something: There's an open overworld but for missions you go into dungeons that are standard linear levels.smoth wrote:Hey people here say I am a serious Sam who needs some painkiller for my doomed borderlands..

If you need some painkiller then get Hard Reset, that's very PK-y. Rage is a regular regenerating health type of FPS though you can use things like healing items to insta heal and avoid hiding in cover.
