Idea for improvments.

The "Status" command should give out more info like how many units is on the feld, etc. The spring downloader should update the status information in real time.

dedicated server can't know this information, and it could theoretically be used to cheat

Depends on what information that can be used to cheat. Remove the information that can be used to cheat and leave the rest.

the lobby server has no way of knowing that. ask someone who's in the game.

the point was, any information about the game that can estimate how long it will last could potentially be used to cheat.

Players in game see less than spectators. But in lobby everyone can see that info, including the players.

Can be relevant. E.g. in ffa and you are too lazy to scout.

Wait what? If the !status action will show only the number of units OVERALL ingame, it doesn't help you a shit. Also, it's probably more safe to scout your enemy than alttab to windows, type the !status command and spot the number of units.. I mean meanwhile there's a chance that you miss something you probably wanted to see right? It's true that it takes only few seconds to do that but eh, still, there's basically nothing that can make that idea look good, nothing.
