Yay!

I wish the download for that QuickDirt thing would work though. That actually looks pretty useful.

Camo, yay or nay? I'm doing the texturing piece-by-piece, and I reckon I've got the chest area done. Thoughts?

(pinky bits are untextured, obviously)

looks awesome to me, panels lines are maybe a bit too intense and frequent

Nice gmn. Needs more contrast on the tex to offset the camo.

Looks good, but I'm guessing that's bullshot lighting?

Eh? Yeah, it's just default 3dsmax lighting, if that's what you meant.

Through a mixture of layer masks, inventive layer selection screwery and some abuse of underlying textures, I think, think, I can make the camo the team colour.

Image

Still needs a bit of tweaking, but it should work (the 'teamcolour' is simply a flat colour layer above everything else, with a layer mask specially constructed to get that effect).

Oh, and the texture is still WIP.

Smoth does some cool stuff with blending with texture overlays like camo. If you could get in touch with him in the lobby or something, he can explain what he does much better than I can.

GMN - had that same idea for team colored camo, almost used it on the madcat back in the day of battletech.But I think it would definitely fit a game with that theme. People just need to keep that in mind when choosing their colors.

BTW texture is awesome! It puts to shame the textures I made for your other models. Would you like those back btw?

@GMN

Why does it have "Atreides" stamped on the shoulder (but spelled wrong)?

Because I mispelt it. I fixed that. It's the name of the Mech; it's an A22 Atreides. Just a Dune reference.

Texture's done, unless anyone can suggest anything more:
