CA 7273 stable Feedback
I played a couple of games yesterday. Much has changed since my last game 3 weeks ago. Here is my feedback.
The chili GUI is getting better and better, fine.
The chilimap bug needs to be fixed.
Since we can custom it the gesture menu is just perfect. But the 'b' key to summon it is annoying : It's too far from the SHIFT key, wich we often use when we are queuing buildings.
The pylon thing is interesting, but it has to be more noob-understandable. The links between pylons and energy should show the energy transfer (such as the core building ray for exemple) and should grow when the energy transfert does. Plus: a electrical overvoltage effect on the pylons when the grid is maxed would be cool. At last the model of the second pylon should differ from former energy storage, it makes the player misunderstand his own buildings.
That's all, I hope it will help.
Gratz for the work done so far.

i am misunderstand my own building

Re: CA 7273 stable Feedback
Meh, it took 1 game to realize the E-stor was the new Pylon. Now I know, and knowing is half the battle.
Agree that it needs more UI feedback. Little lightning bolts over the power-plants (the universal symbol for "build moar E" dating back to Dune 2 and Sim City) would be good to show that they're maxed-out. Visible energy flow from the power-plants to the metal extractors would also be good, I agree.

One thing I forgot to mention: the new ressourcebar looks good but the metal bar flicks. It jumps from 0 to full whereas it's not a ressource problem: the bug keeps going if I make plenty of Metal Storage. Moreover the chiliresbox works fine (but are ugly).
Re: CA 7273 stable Feedback
It's defautl disabled in this stable if it is still enabled for you then it's just because you didn't disabled it in the last broken stable.[78]Bebert wrote:The chilimap bug needs to be fixed.
It flashes, also it doesn't indicate 0 (read the numbers). It does so when you are excessing M (>90% full M storage) and on low E (<10% full E storage).[78]Bebert wrote:One thing I forgot to mention: the new ressourcebar looks good but the metal bar flicks. I originally thought too that something was wrong with it. I think if it flashed red it would do better as a warning indicator and create less confusion over what is happening to your metal. (also would be good for energy too, when you are stalling e)
I haven't been able to play any spring for a while, and it was really nice to come back and see chili so pretty
Something is strange with my "b" key (as in it doesn't do anything) but I don't think its just CA. I can't get to the "debug mode" in any mod. Can anyone shed some light on this?

debug mode is: atl+
Re: CA 7273 stable Feedback
I wanted to make it as unobtrusive as possible that's why black. Also red causes epileptic seizures with the yellow energy bar.maackey wrote:I think if it flashed red it would do better as a warning indicator and create less confusion over what is happening to your metal.
Re: CA 7273 stable Feedback
I'd just draw a lightning bolt over it.

Or make the icons glow red but the whole bar flicking is looking really cheap. However the idea is good, It will help me in my next games.

PLAYING CA FOR EXTENDED PERIODS
MAY CAUSE EPILEPTIC SEIZURES!!!
Re: CA 7273 stable Feedback
Regaring buildmenu key - hold right mouse and try a gesture.
New resbars also show you are spending E when you are in reality excessing (its not properly using overdrive data...)
It should also use same icons for E and M as rest of gui - those are poorly visible and hard to understand.
