Are you sure your .bmp is 8bit grayscale and not rgb?

I'd change the image format completely - at least to .png but more over to .raw 16 bit because that way you get more scale...

Rgb works too, mapconv will add the colors in each channel so it doesnt matter.

But switching to 16bit is a big step up, and you cant lose by doing so.

So ive made the height and metal maps, should i do the featuremap or texturemap(ill need some guidance with this one) next?

metal is best placed with springmapedit. you can use it to place features, too, or you may try worldbuilder.

yep hunter i sorted that problem i think, i didnt realise how unsymmetrical the map was :/ But like i said thats sorted now

Yep, this map may turn out monumentally shit, but ill try and improve it after
