But they didnt win, hell what do i visit the footballstadium for, if i know my team wont win, although superior skillz, tech and torchships? Dramatic Plothole sucks movie beyond the Hollywoodschwarzschildradius. Otherwise i know the movie was pretty awesome, and you didnt have to be a furryluver like d_b to think that.

Just saw it for my first time. 3D, too.

-----

For the first time in a very long time, I feel renewed faith in humanity's storytelling capacity, and ability to create something impeccably... words fail me. Indeed I have renewed my faith in humanity itself as a whole. Loved the "movie" (it pains me to refer to it as something so demeaning) from the beginning to the end. An excellent story, told by masterful storytellers. As many have noted, Avatar bears a striking resemblance to Pocahontas/The New World/Whatever-came-first, and I just don't care. No work of "art" prior to this is even worth speaking of in the same lifetime.

For a fact, Avatar is too good to waste on comparisons to anything that came before it, and I am genuinely disappointed that Avatar-avatar-as-avatar was ever meme'd on this forum and undoubtedly elsewhere. Do not combine your worthless, insignificant self with something on such a higher level than anything you or anyone else here could ever hope to achieve. Undoubtedly your parents, if they had any sense, would say the same thing if they bore witness to the act of perversion you have committed. For shame, "people" if you can still be called that, for shame.

No sarcasm, no trolling: If anyone ever says or even implies something negative about this movie in my presence I will put their name on a list. If it takes the remainder of my days, I will find everyone on the list, and I will brutalize them with a ****ing machete. I will leave them only their eyes and ears intact so that they can experience the last fleeting days of their existence, slowly dying of thirst, strapped to a chair, experiencing Avatar on repeat-play for the remainder of their wretched existence, praying and begging for a forgiveness that will never come.

they should add an 1800-avatar hot line for the most extreme cases.
Just think of the relationships in the tribe of the naabi..
It's like living in a commune...everybody eventually has secret hate towards different members and everyone knows everything about one another.
The whole fusions wiht mama nature is nice.
I wonder if they get some "medicine" from her to relax their nerves, after a long day of being chased by dinosaurs and wild dogs.

It was good. It's really, really obvious that the script was first hashed-out in the mid-'90s though - the whole "white guys big evil exploitative polluters" vs "spiritual earth-loving natives are awesome" thing got done to death a decade ago.

Still, the movie was worth it for the eye-sex, and I'm not normally one to put up with a crappy movie for eye-sex (the Star Wars prequels weren't worth it, nor was Bayformers 2, for example).

Sigourney Weaver was underused.

As an aside, did anybody else get eyestrain whenever there was anything closer than the focal length in the 3d? That is, whenever there was something "too close"? My eyes couldn't focus on those things and it just hurt.

Jim's already talking about sequels. I hope he tries to take it to some new directions, now that he's re-established himself as the awesomest action-movie-director ever.
