It will be from TA demo (since it is free) and a new ones but as close as possible to TA ones (like Evolva models which are free) :-)

TA3D version 0.6.0. TEST 13 Alpha !!!

What`s new?

Font rendering should use less memory, multiplayer has been fixed, many bugs have been fixed.
There is a new track from Griswoldz in the package and you can play music files from archives now (previous packages could only read real files from your resources directory).
There are also some new skies and a few fixes in sky selection code.

Keep in mind this is still alpha (not even beta!!) software, so it's incomplete and still buggy (but we hope it's less buggy than previous alpha ).

(need totala1.hpi and totala2.hpi in /resource/ folder to run)

Probably stupid question:
Would it be possible to add Spring's Luaui to TA3D? :?:
I just thought that TA3D has almost the same gameplay as Spring...

If yes then TA3D's biggest 'problem' would be solved...

Probably yes. TA3D have LUA support as well as the Springs models. Dunno if the integration of LUA is finished, i`ll see where is it now...

This looks very impressive. I can remember years ago when you first posted this here (or someone else did) and a lot of people didn't think you had the skill to come this far. Congratulations on sticking with it, and I look forward to seeing your progress in the future.

Perhaps sometime soon I will give your engine a try with AA 6.0 (original TA version) and make workarounds for any bugs I find, then make a special edition just for TA3D which features some new/Spring content, such as the improved buildpics.

AA 6.0 was pretty much the pinnacle of where AA can go on the OTA engine, so it won't be in direct competition with Spring, but will still be very good for people who don't want to deal with Spring's complexity and... quirks.

Caydr, your are the reason that I`m looking on TA again now, and participating in TA3D project and many others. I`ve also created a small russian TA site and forum, gather a small community (50-60 people), cause we had no till now.

I`ve following your work when you create AA, maybe you does remember my other nick - D.Unit. And I`m still following AA evolution that Twilight do (not the best IMHO) and Reksi (the much better IMHO).

Somehow I don`t stick to Spring, dunno why exactly, but the reason may be the same, as for SupCom.

But, returning back to TA3D, you should just try it to feel where it is going to. We will reach the fully playable state in a half of a year or so, but now almost all stuff works.

I`m very interested in hearing what do you think about it.

Anyway, Best of Luck, Caydr - you are the man :P

I'm very sorry to say I don't remember you :( It's just been too long. But you've given me a whole new perspective on modding, to know that such talented people enjoy my work. I hope in the future our projects enjoy success.

I just tried TA3D for a few minutes - I was very shocked by the quality for a project which I've only ever heard of in passing before. I guess that's what happens when 3 years go by...

I will see you again in 6 months, and maybe by that point I will be able to get to work on AA3D :)

Currently TA3D's in game UI is only driven by OTA data/interface, but TA3D UI engine is already capable of lots of things, adding Lua stuffs should not be very complicated since UI can already send global orders to the engine we could just add a LuaUI module that would be listening for some UI calls and would run some Lua stuffs in a separate thread. This Lua interface module would be usable from anywhere in the engine (not only UI).

I don't how Luaui works in Spring, maybe it is similar to the idea I've just developed, the point is TA3D could use some Lua scripting everywhere in the engine.
