We should advertize individual games and advertize the engine to developers to encourage production of more games. This projects aim is to continue engine development, we're not a marketing agency for those groups or people that use the engine and we already do a lot for it.Caradhras wrote:No it isnt a good point at all.
Spring is a platform for playing RTS games and as a platform for RTS games it has to be advertised.
You cannot fill the mind of people with a hundred names. The community needs one single brand, where people can gather.
That is Spring! Spring is still no game. Its nice to hear, that you already noticed that.
And stop your mod vs mod gibberish, it does help anyone.
Right now it is the insistence that we advertise springs games as a package umbrella that is actually causing damage. It both lowers the perceived quality of the content while tarring the entire project with the legal issues of a minority. It also makes our community look smaller. What's more almost ALL our current marketing efforts are aimed at the umbrella package type offensive and the individual games are for the most part unknown as a result.
If you still do not believe me then look at those whoa re advertising their content but look where they are advertising ti and how. Theyre not advertising it as spring they're advertising it as their game, and they're courting a totally new audience.
