What's going to be the priority of the next version? (I don't mean a possible bugfix version) I request finishing sm3, then do some testing to really get it bug free, and then a release, releasing when a major new thing is done / release early release often sounds great and would prevent major bugs like this release.
Re: Next version
I would suggest a 0.77b4 in the very near future, if we end up in a long term dev cycle again we need a strong rock solid release to work off of, and this current release isn't quite there.
As for 0.78b1 we have the new AI interface. Once that is doen I would say a 0.78b1 release should be made available as a release candidate and the new interface pushed out as soon as possible for bugfixing

Re: Next version
there will be a 77b4 soon I hope; I'm not excluding a 77b5. no new major features are planned for those releases, mostly bugfixes.
Re: Next version
But what about sm3? It's nearly finished right?AF wrote:As for 0.78b1 we have the new AI interface. Once that is doen I would say a 0.78b1 release should be made available as a release candidate and the new interface pushed out as soon as possible for bugfixing
Also, ai's should become unsynced.
Re: Next version
AIs technically ARE unsynched. I can have an AI and add it to a game that nobody else has. Only lua AIs need to be running on every single players machine.
Re: Next version
Hmm I used to have sync errors when I was playing on my own with ai using spring.exe

Re: Next version
Well for me the biggest issues are slowdowns and broken aircraft fuel (since it breaks CA/NOTA gameplay - in case of CA it makes all bombers useless)

Delayed sync message != desyncHoi wrote:Hmm I used to have sync errors when I was playing on my own with ai using spring.exe

Re: Next version
A really 100% rock solid "no known bugs" release would be really great, since it would let people pound away on those crazy long term projects like multithreading and resync / join games in progress / save multiplayer game that have been 6 months away for the last year or more.imbaczek wrote:there will be a 77b4 soon I hope; I'm not excluding a 77b5. no new major features are planned for those releases, mostly bugfixes.

Re: Next version
I don't like it, it should show off the engine, not the logo.
