The model doesn't say big bertha or ARM on it, so in one game it could be... Large Mary of the Leg faction?

I could make a show called "Doctor What" with these things

called "Taleks" but it'd still be infringing.

What if you remodelled it first ;)

Nah, I was kidding - but all of the remodels look a bit different, have no logos - if you properly rename the bertha it's just a big gun. Pretty sure that's far enough from TA IP for comfort.

Hi,
I've been a little busy so no big update today ^^

I'm still wondering in which format i'll release my textures. DDS ? tga ? png ? xcf with layers ?

I don't think I'm gonna tweak the models I showed the last time so i'll do uv/map soon.

Here is first pic of my anni texture. I've tried something with the tubes, like energy flow. I'm not sure you'll like it because it's a bit confusing with the team color. And I tried to add more details to the texture than the bertha's.
I think it's a little bit close to arm design than my bertha one. Critics !

P.S. : holy shit, modeling hovercraft are so difficult o_O I can't manage any great design :-)

Looking good. There are a few clear seams that you need to deal with, and be careful of making highlights/glow too strong, as it can drown out other details. Remember that units still have specularity added once in side spring.

I think because this is such a technical unit, you should include a lot more wires and greebles on it's surface - especially in the areas revealed when it 'opens up'. Mr.D does an excellent greeble work; another great job was done by Vassago, who did two textures for us, but then moved on to professional work:

That texture doesn't grab me... again I think your textures may be better suited to play distance though, so a shot from there wouldn't go amiss (and this is a good thing, that's where everyone sees them from most of the time!).

Think the teamcolour is a bit garish too, that doesn't help.

While it would like good from a distance the texture on the metal needs spicing up, looks too plain.

i love the annihilator but i think if you make antenna's darker (leave the red pattern!) they will blend with the model better, and stick out from most map textures.

just my opinion...

Better than Bertha's! But top needs some work. It will be better if you add more light gray/cream(maybe). Don't make a lot of luminant parts.
Imho.

How compare... Look at Mr_D's Arm (or even Core) Naval Nano Towers.

Oh lol, those Naval nanotowers and floating shield gens that I made really need a re-texture.
Those were before I even did the CORE remakes (pre-nub texturing), and they're aweful

The Annihilator texture is generally pretty decent, but it looks very washed out and blurry to me, needs some crisping and sharper contrasts.

If its all done on a 512x512 for example, the blurring and almost pixelated textures does happen some, but overall its good work, just needs some sharpening and stronger contrasts so the individual parts on the gun/barrel/doors ect stand out from eachother.

Also, most of the work seems to have been done with the dodge/burn tool, which is a good skill to have, but you can't expect good preshading to totally make the texture for you, you still need the details. It now looks like a nicely lit model with interesting teamcolour, but you haven't yet explained much about what the materials the weapon is made out of, or whether it's a heavily mechanical thing, or slickly armoured thing, whatever...

No-no-no, don't retexture it! It's my favourite remodel of all your units. Really.

Hi,
I've been a bit busy those days with this scripting story, mods etc but everything should go faster after today
Also, thanks to AF for hosting me a ftp freely ! : ))))

@ Warlord Zsinj : Yep, it seems that my pre-shading skill is quite ok now, but I still don't know what to do in the texture after that   What details add etc.. Actually I just put a noise layer for the "metal look", that's all. But I'm gonna practice ! ^^

@ MDV : I can't find those "nano naval tower" from Mr.D :/ But I found his commander remake made a long time ago, hehe :D

@ bobthedinosaur : Ok, I'll try to manage this "antenna" a bit better :D

@ Mr.D : Ok i'll take care about this blury aspect.

Anyway, I just tweaked a bit the last models and have done the uv/map.

Adv fusion : 1579 tris.

Also, I've put every blender files on the ftp so you can download it.
Ok now I'm gonna stop modeling for a moment and concentrating in texturing the models I already done.

GN !
