Some modes (even they in "beta) are quite big and release very often new builds ...
will be possible to add into "mod" archive structure something for updates like :
old build file:
springwdb4.sd7
updated files:
springwdb4_update_springwdb5.sd7
so people e.g. don't need download whole mod because one 10k file changed ...
of course another way is that mod developers will release archive and you will need just repack archive file self but that is less n00b friendly ...
Suggestion : mods updates

I would look into the 7zip specification, it's possible to add additional files to a 7zip without completely recompressing the whole thing (I think) so it would make sense to be able to release a patcher that would only contain recent changes and be able to update... otherwise a simple app to decompress, add the files and recompress should work too... though honestly, until we get to the point where some of these mods are worth calling stable it's not worth it... 25 meg downloads are pretty reasonable unless your on dial-up... in which case you probably never downloaded the orriginal mod files anyways...

uh unstable ? i'm using that for like year and never noticed damaged files and use this for thousands files / week ... just avoid using solid archives ...GrOuNd_ZeRo wrote:Yeah, but I noticed that the archives will become instable when adding new files or updating the files within the archive.
Why adding, deleting and updating operations don't work for existing archives?
Current version of 7-Zip cannot do some operations with .7z archives, created with solid option switched on.
