Ultimately that's my stance. I don't believe in ambiguous morality, but I'm not so confident I understand it that I feel authorized to impress it on other people.Panda wrote:I'm not saying that I'm for or against abortion or anything, because I think, it's not my decision to make or place to tell people what to do
Manored: I believe life is worth living, I believe it's probably the most valuable thing on earth, I believe there are objective rights and wrong to actions, but I don't grant anyone the authority to impose their translation on others. In my opinion, the purpose of life is to figure out the purpose of life, the exact nature of existence, so I believe people should form personal ethical frameworks based on their life experiences and stick to those frameworks. If someone wants to ask my advice I'll willingly give it, but it's not my place to force my opinion on another person.
I believe people shouldn't abort pregnancies if it's in any way avoidable, I don't believe people should ever choose to abort because a child would be inconvenient. In certain circumstances of course health concerns must be taken as prevalent, but otherwise, it's my opinion, that the right of the child to exist takes president over the convenience of the mother. However, Ultimately a parent has the right to abort in today's society, and I believe that because their decision doesn't directly effect me it's not my right to mandate their action. I might impress my opinion on a friend or family member, but ultimately, if they were to choose to ignore me I wouldn't believe they are evil monsters, or stop interacting with them, and I would never impress my opinion on a stranger.
