wind min/max doesnt match ingame
when i play speedmetal, i sometimes notice the wind is not 30 when its min is 30 and max is 30. it can go like 5-15 sometimes o_O
or was the min/max 25? anyways, there seems to be a bug.
oh and mod is BA

Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
This happens occasionally on other maps too...
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
uhm maybe wind speed = not the same as energy

Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
Depends what the windGenerator tag is set to. Energy = windGenerator * wind. Although in BA this is 1, so energy is really equal to wind there.
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
it's not at max when the wind direction changes
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
The point is it seems to be less than min at times... Which shouldn't be possible, given the definition of min.
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
IMO the energy shouldnt change even if wind direction changes
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
LOL ofc it should, that's the whole point of wind energy.TradeMark wrote:IMO the energy shouldnt change even if wind direction changes
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
I think what he meant was that it shouldn't go below min while changing direction...
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
yeah, or all my calculations becomes bullshit
how its possible wind direction changes so fast anyways
how its possible wind direction changes so fast anyways

LOL thats just bullshit. The whole point of wind energy is that the wind SPEED changes between min/maxHoi wrote:LOL ofc it should, that's the whole point of wind energy.TradeMark wrote:IMO the energy shouldnt change even if wind direction changes
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
+ when you rotate your buildings, it looks like the wind blows from many directions at once, so theres no fucking reason to adjust the energy output while wind direction changes.
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
Ask modder to make windmill same as solar then apart from the model. Or just play a mod without windmills. Or just make solars.
How many energy a windmill can produce is related to wind speed btw (in real life)

For realism play Total War!TradeMark wrote: how its possible wind direction changes so fast anyways
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
Either way, when the mapper sets the "wind" value to be from N to M, we expect the energy output of the windmill to be from N to M. If this is not the case, we need a formula for what the output will be.Tobi wrote:Ask modder to make windmill same as solar then apart from the model. Or just play a mod without windmills. Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
IIRC the modder can give a maximum energy output of windmills. Could be multiplier or minimum too, don't exactly remember. Read source for details

Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
WindGenerator = X, where X is the multiplier.Tobi wrote:IIRC the modder can give a maximum energy output of windmills. Could be multiplier or minimum too, don't exactly remember. Read source for details
That's what the modder gets. And I've never seen a mod where the value wasn't "1".
Re: wind min/max doesnt match ingame
With the obvious exception of CA, since they cut all energy by 10.Pxtl wrote:WindGenerator = X, where X is the multiplier.Tobi wrote:IIRC the modder can give a maximum energy output of windmills. Could be multiplier or minimum too, don't exactly remember. Read source for details

BTW in CA I love the way they have energy set up. The only real caveat is fractions, but meh, for CA it works extremely well.
