Re: Request: 0.76b2
Sorry, I didnt read the whole thread, please dont slaughter me if its already answered, but:
There is a spring-version out there with many bugfixes backported (ground decals and more) which syncs to current release 0.76b1, right?. Why not just officially realising this version as 0.76b2?

Re: Request: 0.76b2
that's an easy one - it's something nobody has had the time to do. I maintain, (well, technically, used to, since nothing has been backported since some time ago) a branch with some fixes, but releasing is something that requires coordination from several members of the community.
also, the last release was more than half a year ago and other major issues were taken care of which cannot be easily backported, so I'm leaning for the full release option; don't know what people have in their queues, though.

Re: Request: 0.76b2
is there any indication of when the new version is coming?
Re: Request: 0.76b2
Is it possible that this version requires python to be installed?

if that thread are there to do requests, i have one: some libraries we could expect to be shared libs instead static link;
for windows users an enormous .exe is acceptable, but 15MB of binary code is too big to me. we could free some memory for textures,
