Re: Tides of Darkness
It doesn't look like it was made in Spring at all. Take note of blinking 'light' on the Annihilator turrets - that seems to be an animated texture and Spring doesn't have that.
Re: Tides of Darkness
Thats made in an animation program.

Povray render video - some years old though...
Re: Tides of Darkness
I think OTA actually had those blinking animated textures?
Re: Tides of Darkness
Blah, could've guessed, but I could'nt view the whole video last night due to internet problems. >_<
Re: Tides of Darkness
Yes, Annihilator had that in OTA. The same 'glowing' tex was used on the energy storage (I think it was ARM storage, but I'm not sure).Zpock wrote:I think OTA actually had those blinking animated textures?
Re: Tides of Darkness
Both, actually. It was on the metal makers too, iirc.

Re: Tides of Darkness
Yeah - in fact all those yellow / red areas of that kind were blinking. I to some extent miss that in Spring...
Re: Tides of Darkness
yes ta had animated textures, yes, it sucks that spring doesn't.
Re: Tides of Darkness
This was animated in Lightwave 3D, and rendered in (POVRAY? Lightwave itself? I don't remember). I remember when the guy who made this first released it. It's a pretty cool piece of work :)
I dont have sound ATM so i don't know if this has it or not, but there was a version of this with narration.

Re: Tides of Darkness
That's the same version then - the video has narration, music and weapon firing sounds.

Reply on youtube a few pages back:
I hadn't even realised my video was posted on here. It wasn't made with TA Spring, the credits mention all external tools used. Models, textures and animation scripts were exported from Total Annihilation into POVRay using my own program. Where available TAAN's Evolva (higher poly) models replace the original TA models. Once in POVRay, scenes were constructed and animated, rendered, and made into a Movie. All the sounds come straight from TA.
