Re: building turning.
There is a free thing called X-Mouse button control that does app specific commands for each of 5 buttons on a mouse.
Re: building turning.
I thought what he was saying is a widget with a picture of a compass and you can click it to determine direction.

I thought this as well...SinbadEV wrote:I thought what he was saying is a widget with a picture of a compass and you can click it to determine direction.
Re: building turning.
Best way would be when u place ur building u hold the button and move the mouse to the direction u wantur building to face.
That is the fastest and thus the best way.

Re: building turning.
im happy that had the right idea..
Re: building turning.
So, instead of tapping a button to turn it through the cardinal directions, you hold another button plus the click, since holding the click will draw a line, and rotate the building manually...
That makes no sense. I have carpal tunnel and I prefer tapping a key between one and three times to reorient over that. It hurts to type and I still think the current method is better than your suggestion.

Re: building turning.
nonono, your totally wrong :'(
its just a button + mouse movement, ie move mouse left, get rotate left, move mouse tight get buildign facing right
move mouse forward you get building faceing forward, although north south east west..

Re: building turning.
That would require recoding the current behaviour where click plus movement drag defines a line, or even a box with the aid of modifiers.
Re: building turning.
It only defines a line if u also press shift.
ts just the most intuitive way.

Re: building turning.
But that sort of falls apart when your trying to issues command queues.
Re: building turning.
Uh, you just click, hold and pull. Instant line.

Re: building turning.
The current spring interface is shit. It needs to be trashed in favor of a completely voice activated and gesture based system. There should be more menus, and funny things to look at on the screen like compasses, and the mouse trail widget should be enabled by default.
