Well basicly we need a mapconv that read the trees from the metalmap instead of the texturemap....
I believe that's the latest contribution of mother....

Great maps, pretty fun in middle-late game...

But i agree with NOiZE, way ro much metal on them. And i played a game yesterday when pepole built on the water and the structures survived for enternity... shouldt acid be more.... Burny?

Takes down a pee-wee in about 3 secs i timed or wait i havent uploaded the latest versions or anything. Dam. PEOPLE, STOP THE PRESS!! I'll put the new ones on ASAP, now i know there sound concept wise but with to much metal (easy prob to fix) and more burny acid.

hm. I was wondering... Yesterday i downloaded acidbridge from fileuniverse, and that version hat a really strange metalmap...

It seems like it was rotated 180 degrees... the right island metalmap looked like it would fit on the left, and vice versa, while in the middle almost all metal was in the acid.
Design or accident?

You know what would be cool... if you made like 10 strength metal patches on the land but filled all the acid with 255 metal... that no one could use (make sure it was out of the range of people building mexs on the shore, right?)... that would really piss people off... that would be cool...

P.S. Can you guess why I have never released any maps despite the fact that I keep posting in the map forum like I know what I'm talking abou?

Well, THATS a skybox thats actually worth the download.
(i found it sad that most maps that come with skyboxes right now look worse than the build in sky)

Then you had bnetter download it right now!

Now.... do i make a slightly different sky box for the fixed version of Acid Foursome? Or keep this one?

I think maps should have a version tag (and i dont mean in the filename).
Especially as the file formats are still in developement and new versions are the norm and not the execption...

edit:
just downloaded and tested it...
er... the metalmap... looks still wrong. the middle bend is just the wrong direction (all metal in acid, not on the brindge, and the blobs look like they belong to the other island, respectively.

It seems the only change is that now metal is reduced by the factor of 10... I know it was a bit much before, but now, a mex on the most metal intensive spot just gets a even 2... and with the hugh collection radius, thats not much...

The metal map... well, lets just say its been playing merry hell with my brain and i gave in...

However, This map will be released ONE more time, and it will be fixed in that release. This is because what is sawly missing is features, which i am working on... once the next release is out that has featurse (hopefully anyway) it will come out in all its glorry.

Maybe theres not quite enough metal now... but im renowned of that normaly...

any other coments?
