it should be possible to have an option to download maps and mods when needed from the lobby interface.
it would reduce the hassle of having all updated monds.....
Not only that u should also be able to see a screen of the map if available through the lobby...any lobby web interaction should be cut down to a minumun and everything should be handledd from the lobby .
Where exactly could we integrate a p2p system?
The engine is obviously not a good choice, therefore it would have to be in the lobbies, except that there are multiple lobby clients. So do we need to create a new dll library that can be connected too by the clients, like unitsync is now, or do we add it to unitsync itself?
Will we need to amend the lobby protocol at all?
If we decide to use bittorrent, could we just put the tracker directly into the lobby server?
These are some of the questions that I think need to be answered before we proceed on this.
if any of you have seen the Supcom Lobby, how hard will it be to create something similair but adjusted for spring?how far are we from it?From what i have seen its main points are:
More visualy oriented interface.
The possibility to download what you need directly through the lobby.
Its also easy tp pick up and doesnt through you into a mass of text and tabs.
