You don't have to register or do anything to see them. It's no worse a click-through than a shot on photo bucket et all.

I think I might rework that one a little, as I'm not entirely happy with it.

Criticisms welcome.

Part of the model. It's purposely designed to take up a tiny amount of UV space, though.

That is, frankly, a great model and texture. I can't wait to see the improved version.

To keep with the 'Rebels are defending the planet, while Imperials are invading' theme that we have going here, only rebels build their stuff on the ground. The imperials have the cooler construction mechanism, IMO ;)

Your ground scar looks really good, but I'm a bit concerned about a non-snow background. Could we get an image (On your forum is fine.)

Relatedly, you were sort of taking a pounding on the thread in your forum about this unit. Stick to your guns imo, you have the right ideas aesthetically.

negative. used future is nice and all, but you are doing too much of it in your textures.

I think I can get away with it being dirty on this refinery, but I'll endeavor to keep units from looking too nasty in the future. I do think that in an RTS it is worth exaggerating what you are trying to get across with units, though - as that allows things to immediately convey what you want to get across with the few glances these units get, it allows the general theme of each side to be really spelled out for the player (in a game, especially an RTS, to get a thematic feel, there is rarely room for subtlety), and finally because it allows for greater contrast when viewing from afar.

Also, it is much harder to do a really nice looking, clean texture, then it is to do a 'quite nice' dirty texture. Partially because of my average ability, and partly because of the huge workload I have to get through, I tend to lean towards making my units fall into the latter category.

Erom, recheck the thread, uploaded two new shots on two different maps.

Thanks guys.

Those forums are there for discussion, and the main reason why I've shifted to posting these things publicly was to bring you all into the process, and get your feedback. Next time you should jump in on the discussion and let your opinions be heard :)

Anyway, here's the next unit preview:

Its getting annoying when I click on a thumbnail and instead of seeing the full sized image I see yet another list of thumbnails.

Perhaps you can add a 'click here for more' link and then just link the thumbnail to the larger image.

Quit your bitching, no one is forcing you to look. He already explained why he's not just posting the pics here to begin with.
