ty for tip noize, just did some tests on pillagers, they are actually worth it. 6 of them even kill gollie head to head (they get some free shots before gollie came in range)
6 pillagers do ~400 dps with decent range and aoe and costs <2000 (like 1 gollie)
And yes their role is support not main unit doh.
Does anyone know how does unit decide what to attack? Penetrator allways seem to attack golli and not gators or socuts.. why? Also mav allways gets attacked by llt and not zeuses etc? Most DPS?

What are everyone's thoughts on the Core Krow? I agree it needed an improvement, but they are nearly unkillable in numbers. What works well against them? Must be TONS of stealth fighters because ground defenses don't last long at all against a few krows.
Personally, I'd like see the health of the krow cut back quite a bit but have its damage output increased.

Perhaps cutting back the Krow's health and giving it regen? After all, when damaged the damn thing takes a year to pull back to the repair pad. Then the slow, painful swarming of fighters would be less severe than the sudden damage of mashing into an anti-air line. That would balance things out... but would relegate it to a support-role rather than an assault role. I don't know if that's a great approach.Peekaboom wrote:What are everyone's thoughts on the Core Krow? I agree it needed an improvement, but they are nearly unkillable in numbers. I don't know if there should even be a unit like the Krow really. ATM it's almost more of a game ender than a krog or cap ship, since you can't keep it from flying all around.
That suggestion means yo need to spend a little more time micro'ing the thing and have a little caution with what you do with it.
I like that idea. It makes it different from most planes where you send them off to raid / bomb and don't have high expecations of them returning. If the health is low, you can't just send the Krow into a pack of flakkers or fighters unsupported. However, you can do some damage and still be able to pull out to repair and come back again.Perhaps cutting back the Krow's health and giving it regen?

SAM batteries when massed, mercuries/screamers and stealth fighters. What are everyone's thoughts on the Core Krow? I agree it needed an improvement, but they are nearly unkillable in numbers. What works well against them?
you can pretty much get all of these with the cost of several krows ~_~

cutting its hp and giving it regen decreases the need for apm for krow.
if anything, its building/m cost could be increased . . .
hp regen would mean that it doesnt really need to back down to get repaired, but instead can go hit some lightly protected stuff while it gains some hp back to go head on against aa.
I dont see it with proper socuting. Figters eat em for free and FLAK veh too. Just have 10 of them mixed with other units and watch some crows die. If u mix flak with big units like bulldog, crows hardly hurt flak.Sleksa wrote:so there is no problem really ~_~
SO allways have screen of fighters ready once u see enemy gettingT2 air.

You shouldn't have to pay "the cost of several crows"... Crows are an air unit, if you know they are coming you should be able to mount a cost effective counter that makes the enemy waste more cash buying the crows then you waste developing the counter.Sleksa wrote:SAM batteries when massed, mercuries/screamers and stealth fighters. What are everyone's thoughts on the Core Krow? Crows already have the advantage of the fact that they are massively expensive and air units don't leave corpses. If they can do their metal cost in damage they have been more useful that pretty much any normal unit which gives metal back to the opponent after it does the damage.

neddiedrow├óÔÇ×┬ó approved! We can deal with them - cost effectively. Tired can pull it with very little in terms of resources if I recall... and even I can do it with a third of the resources.
