So:

new metalmap
new heightmap
new texture

Isnt that a bit much? I'd argue the layout needs changing too, it generally favours the first person to expand in the west, with the east being just the usual plain tug of war.

For what it is it isn't a very interesting map either. If it was a map released by some random guy nobody had seen before, then we'd never play it and this discussion would be dismissed as foolish with the phrase 'why on earth would we swap red comet with mars?'

Id argue that a replacement for small divide is a much better investment than reworking mars instead of replacing it with red comet.

Afterall the only time mars is played is:

- Lets use mars simply because everyone has it and we dont want those 1rank new guys to have to be nannied into downloading a better map

- Oooo, I have 2 maps, that other map I tried small divide wasnt very good, lets try mars

Every few months I see BA players on Mars If I'm lucky, usually 1 ranks. I never see mod devs use mars, or Gundam or EE or FF on mars, I never see Star ranks play XTA on mars unless its a ragtag of ranks with at least 1 first rank(I'm usually the one at star rank).

Small divide is a rush for the middle and build popup map. Its not great looking, and hasnt much going for it in my experience. I should have added a replace small divide with red comet option

In the mean time 80% of all votes support adding red comet to the installer. Quite an overwhelming majority

That doesnt mean that even with red comet the installer maps arent perfect.

Small divide is in need of a redux or outright replacement, and a third map would be good for completeness should mars be replaced with red comet rather than red comet added, something with some water and some lua magic.

NO, do NOT touch my small divide.

This map is the perfect map for fast games, and the best small maps of all.

Some of the most epic games have been played on this map... i reamber once Sleksa and Min3mat duking it out, were in the end they switched sides thanks to the constant base building and destuction.

Remake it, k. Maybe iron out some of the exploits and buggy terrian. but do NOT remove it. Just because no one plays it dosent make it a bad map.

And mars... well, i can say that its one of the phew maps where hills are not either walls or bumps in the road. You can acually make things go over these things, althought its not easy. They are steep and hard to climb, but its possible. It really shows the diffrence between k-bots and vechiles which phew pepole use because no one is making these kinds of maps.

But mars is pretty unbalanced, since its basicly a NASA rendering with some metal slapped on it.

Small maps forever!

Map4 rocked. It was the prettiest map included with the very first public versions, and it got cut out :(
It was pretty interesting to play too.

While we're at it, maybe add a small water map like coast 2 coast too.
