draw in map should DISSAPEAR after a while and fog of war
Hey, I have noticed that what you draw in map dosn't seem to dissapear by itself again. It should go away after a short while. And fog of war, default hotkey Any+l = togglelos and to remove the green Any+; = toggleradarandjammer, SHOULD BE STANDARD IN EACH GAME so you don't have to activate it every time.

newb
what are you talking about??? I said remove the green cicles NOT ADD THEM, newb! L makes fog of war, and ^ og ; removes the green circles. I dont want to play with green circles either, but you can remove them with ^ og ;.1v0ry_k1ng wrote:no, it shouldnt, i preffer to play with the map not covered in various green circles

You show them the factory, and 10 minutes after you have showed them that factory you are still showing your allies that factory. Set fade time to 2 minutes, that will be time enough FOR EVERYONE.AF wrote:So I see an enemy factory and I plonk down a marker saying factory to make my allies aware. Then they're like wtf factory where?!?!?! So I show them the marker btu it isnt there, its faded away in the fog of war......
You know, you can just remove the marker in the blink of an eye. Why force an auto-removal on players? What's there to gain from removing a marker when no player has indicated they want it gone?
Standard radar off was tried once, people complained because, well, the green IS important information, it tells you where you can still see enemy movement!

Because I want fog of war without green circles, and the radar works fine this way altso.KDR_11k wrote:You know, you can just remove the marker in the blink of an eye. scenario 1:
I draw out an attack plan. I spent 10 minutes gathering my forces and building up an airforce with my allies.
I launch my units forward but oomph my drawings have vanished?!?!?!?
scenario 2:
I set a marker for when my friend is back from raiding an enemy, but the marker has faded and he cant quite see where it is anymore because of the terrain colour.....
scenario 3:
I draw out a base plan so I can layout a complicated entrance to my base to throw off attackers. My plan fades before all the queue is laid down...
scenario 4:
I've set up an air bridge and have drawn circles around the pick up and drop zones. a few minutes later I go to issue a rally point and find I've lost my pick up and drop zones in my complicated transport sequences...
As for green circles, press ';' to turn radar and jammer overlays off on the los view. As for auto doing it, not needed, press 'l' at the start of the game, you should already be pressing 'i' to see stats like wind min/max energy and tidal. Most users prefer it turned off as shadows etc dont work while it's turned on.

^^
Say what? It looks at behaves like fog of war!KDR_11k wrote:It's no fog of war, it's a visualization of the LOS of your units.
Its an overlay not fog. This overlay disables a lot of graphics, such as shadows, and not everyone thinks its very nice looking. Some people play worse with it turned on.
In all probability it would actually drive players away who dont know how to turn it off.
I also find on some maps it obscures information by making the map texture less apparent, sometimes so much it obscures mex patches and height differences.
It would also give a huge advantage to the colour black.
