What are the scripts that work when he hosts?
What are the scripts where you get the connection lost message and his game has no commanders?

I've tried Commanders Res 1000 and Commanders on both sides and it only works when he hosts, or perhaps I don't understand what you are asking? Script.txt is not used when you are just using spring.exe (and not the client).

Edit: Here are the contents of my infolog.txt:
Using ARB_fragment_program_shadow
Using NV_render_depth_texture
TA Spring 0.50b2
Using script Commanders
Player LordMatt joined as 0
Using script Commanders
Lost connection to Player
User exited
Path cache hits 0 -1%
Path cache hits 0 -1%

His infolog.txt:
Became player 1
Using script Commanders
Got mapname Green Isles v2.sm2
Using ARB_fragment_program_shadow
Using NV_render_depth_texture
TA Spring 0.50b2
User exited
Path cache hits 0 -1%
Path cache hits 0 -1%

When I said script, I meant filename in:

Code: Select all

Spring.exe filename
But, you don't have one? From my understanding, the game won't run without one.

The script file is generated by the client during online games, and stores the settings that were established in the battle room (and some other things). It is not needed to start a game using spring.exe with two computers.

Try making your own and using it for you to host. Or post me one that your computer generates from the client and I'll give you two copies to test.
I don't understand how Spring can know where to connect to without this file.

The Server just starts a game and the other player types in the server's IP address. Script.txt is generated by the multiplayer client program, and is not used in games started without the client. I can post the contents of a script.txt file, but the immediate problem is that I can't start a LAN game with my computer as the host, which seems to be a prerequisite for hosting an online game with my computer in which the other LAN computer can play in. I have no trouble hosting an online game with my computer, just a LAN game for some reason.

Playing with the Script.txt may result in something working. When you host, does he type in 192.168.0.1 or your Internet IP address?

He types the local IP. Though when we've tried with the client program, the script.txt file it generates on his machine has the public IP (the bug you thought you might be able to work around).
