I think speed metal is just a call for faster games. Can't someone make a mod that plays like speed metal on normal maps? Then everyone can play other maps again ;)

Ofcourse people would complain about that mod then, but still...

Play Speed Ball.

And big maps wont play well for fast gameplay mods anyways, the map must be small... Or the mod becames really boring if every unit moves in superfasthyberspeed mode...

And speedmetal isnt fast map, it takes 2 hours to finish it. It only lasts like 15 mins if other player is total noob. And after 20 minutes it is lagging like hell. NO joy at all. Speed Ball solves all problems :)

You know that you can use other themes for speed metal. How about Crystal Meth. Basically take Agorm's crystal map (was it Agorm's and is it released even?) and fuck the metal map up.

It's been done several times over.

Kernal Panic, nanoblobs, n00berhack, CvC all play at a very high pace on any map. Of those, n00berhack uses OTA units and weapons, so its pretty familiar to speedmetal players.

Several mutators have been made for AA that essentially make any map speedmetal, but they've always failed to catch on.

However, LLTA is an example of a 'successful' AA varient that is more or less 'speedmetal on any map' given the ease of defense and the plethora of metal.

I just noticed this... putting out a notice that gundam plays better on large maps. So you guys now have at least one mod that plays well on large maps.

EE also does that is +1

so 2 then there is starwars...

+2

so 3 mods that play well on a larger map..

wait I forgot epic 40k and battlefleet... crap.. +4 so now five mods :).

large maps have a use. Hell we tried to play trenches but some machines had issues. :(
